Hi, I'm a new user and I need some advise. I am going to attempt to replace my power steering pump in my vs because last night it was making a horrible squealing noise. I was told it did need replacing soon by a mechanic a few months ago, as it has a slow leak, but hasn't been very noisy. I've always made sure of keeping the fluid level up so I haven't let it run dry or anything. Last night as a was about to pull into my driveway, it started. But it's very loud. Why would the noise start suddenly? It's never made such a noise before this. And can I do it without a pulley tool, or is it necessary to align it properly to put it back on? And what seals or gaskets do I need to get? Any help or step by step instruction would be very much appreciated. Even pictures would be great, can't always remember the names of all the parts. Thanks.
