thanks for that guys.
after riding it for a few kms, all i know is, another seat is a must.
or i would need to wear lycra with the internal padding. and lets get this straight. i will never wear lycra. (however some downhill shorts might be on the cards)

so anyway, been looking at the first round of modifications already. (think of them as typical "P Plate mods" of the bike world)
have basically decided on keeping the orange/white/black theme throughout.

so far have come up with
ODI Ruffian Grips. Black with the Orange lock on rings. or maybe a silver.
have them on the other bike and they are very comfortable.

anodised ends: ODI Lock-Jaw Clamps Inc Snap Caps | Buy Online | ChainReactionCycles.com

Anodised Orange Pedals if i can get them with a pair weight of under 350grams.
otherwise probably something black or silverish
these blackspires look the goods, and are only 300-350 grams for the pair. which is brilliant.

that is gold, but gives you an idea.
can always go black, and change the studs to orange, or something similar.

will probably go some black metal valve caps. just so they blend in with the rims.

and finally the seat
looking at the spank tweet twee (first pic)t, or something similar like the Spank Subrosa (second pic).
either in black or white.
from the reviews they are fairly comfortable

tassles just add extra uneeded weight =P

anyway ordered some stuff. should look good once on the bike.
and hopefully the seat will actually have some cushioning, unlike the current one.
so sore right now.

so right now i will probably keep riding the old bike until the items arrive.
and once they arrive, it will be off to the shop for a proper tune up. (gears, suspension, the works tuned to correct settings)

and who knows.
either looking at starting to compete in downhill, enduro races (6hr marathons basically) or taking it up to buller in the summer.
