Hot dashboard on driver's side VX SS

The dashboard on the driver's side of the SS, gets very hot particularly after a freeway drive. It seems to be OK on shorter, slower drives. I have looked for any obvious issues but haven't come up with an answer.

Is it an air-conditioning related problem? I thought the evaporator is on the passenger's side and that would be the only real source of excess heat.

Any ideas people?

The heater tap may be stuck open allowing hot coolant to run through into the heater core. The AC evap and Heater core are both in the center low in the dash.
