What BCM do I have?

I have a guy who mentioned he has a HSV VS 92049 795, Would that work?

What car are you putting the BCM into ? VR or VS ?
Your blown BCM is from a VS, but your original post and ride shows VR ?

VR and VS BCM's are not interchangable due to different pin assignments.

Good catch, my car is a VR exec but before my ownership, it was fully swapped with VS Senator motor, running gear, kit etc.
So I imagine they changed the BCM at this time to suit the VS motor.

Which is silly as the BCM is the BODY control module so should have stayed VR.
The ECU follows the motor.
They labeled them with what they do even

In the VT onwards era they are linked together but the gen 2 girls are stand alone.

The whole car is. a bit of a mystery in all honesty so I'm just trying to figure it all out, that being said I imagine a VR would no longer work.
So could I run a 795 or does it have to be a 149? (Both being a 92049)

yeah that's toast. Senator is a Berlina base.

Best practice is to swap the BCM that you have with a matching one (+ key fob!), so you would be looking for another 149 hi.

From memory, senator is Calais base and Clubsport is berlina base.

However that may change between generations. I know it to be true with VT.

Previous owner may have swapped the lot.

So the plugs may be the same just the pin assingments are different or could you physically not be able to plug them in?

In VR/VS Manta, Clubsport and GTS are exec. Senator is Berlina. HSV did not use Calais as Berlina gave them the base they needed.
Also Ute and Statesman/Caprice bases for the Maloo, Statesman and Grange.

If it’s a 304, ecu is the same between vr & Vs.
