  • couple of things spring to mind... slight resistance to earth? Unless you disconnect the speaker wire from either the cd player/amplifier completly they will always read a very high resistance to earth as you trace it back through the amplifier in the headunit.

L/F extremely muffled or tweeter not working?
Speaker "gurgling" can usually be attributed to capacitors in the amplifier draining out their stored voltage. They shouldn't do it, but it's typically no big drama. It can be caused though if... you have a short to ground on one of your speaker wires.

What was the resistance to ground out of curiosity?
Headunits can be pretty tolerant of abuse (read as speaker wire shorting to earth) as they only run on 12volts internally and as such, really only ever push out 15wrms.

Since am amp has internal power supplies to take the voltage up to what is required plus some current due to efficiency or lack there of, they make them a little more sensitive with errors.

    What's it actually doing again?

Can chat to you tomorrow about it.about to hit the hay.
So... does your profile have enlarged font because you think everyone has poor eyesight like you?

    Cranky old bastard.
