they do have a a badge that is similar to the bumper badge but you have to use adhesive of some sort to stick it on.
as for the front grill and boot lid badges...all mine are new from rare spares and look and fit good imo
Sounds like a good idea...but id be more inclined to let rare spares do it and look after all the quality control. I dare say it will cost more than 5K to produce the moulds
They are slowly increasing the parts list for early commodores as they can see the demand is growing.
I was at my local...
heres an example :blah blah: ....well my engine basically!
I built my own 355
It cost me approx. 12k + new 4500 8" stall converter and a new set off 3.55 diff gears
And all I started with was a bare VS 5.0l block....nothing else.
I had some extensive port work on the heads by HPE which flow a...
in all honesty ditch the hydraulic cam!!...
And you gotta do something with your heads as any cam with a bit of duration and lift will just be a turd!!
Flat tops and a 0 deck height will see you around 11.0:1 comp depending head CC.
And honestly if your going to send a motor all the way to...
you say flat top pistons....then 0 decking block and heads??? that will bring the comp up to around 11:1 ish
if you going to go a flat tappet cam....why not go a solid flat tappet instead of the commonly used 284/286 hydraulic?.....something like the crane 280 solid for example.
if the cam and...
I may have missed something along the line....but did you say you cant find a piston to suit a holden rod??
try precision international for your pistion as they sell stroker kits with holden rods and slugs
if you only plan on running 8-10 psi and not spinning it much more than 6000-6500 rpm
Run a scat crank, either a forged I beams or Standard H beam.
A forged piston....(CP Carillo pistons).....this kit would set u back approx 1600 bux maybe more for the forged I...
I come to terms and decided my cam was too small for my converter and not really good enough to compliment and get the best out of the port work done on my heads....so I decided to pull the engine and fit in a new cam
Gave it a fresh coat of paint
All bolted up and ready for start up...
good to hear its running!!!!
what ecu are you running??
data logging is a cool thing for tuning....ive never seen how it works but ive seen dudes at the drags whipping out their laptops and checking it to see how the afr's were
howd you go with the fuel lines?? you step down to 3/8??
the thought that has always stuck in my head is that "the faster the flow the less time to cool"
eg....put a cup of boiling water in a freezer for one minute and youll get 80* for example
.......put another cup of boiling water in for 2mins and it will cool to 60* for example
1 however the...
no probs mate, I kinda miss read your post too thinking u installed a new head unit.
The security code will need to entered into the stereo....if you cant find it contact holden with vehicle specs and they should have a code in their database
yeah yeah I want street cred too
Ive already got a big exhaust and cannon.... also drilled the muffler to give it more noise.
How big is too big....I don't really want my diff to explode from all the powaa
It already killed my gearbox lol
3300 seems a bit rich to me.
If the car wasn't my daily ip personally do everything myself...besides the tune.
Id also add a full twin 3" exhaust,
Have some work done on the heads
And get a cam to suit the ported heads....something to suit .600 lift int.
hello people im new to v8s and was wondering if you can help me out
I have a clapped out 5ltr with low compression and heaps of blow by...
can you help me choose a cam?
I want some that makes it have a lumpy and rough idle and makes it sound fully sic when im at the lights ready to race.
big or high volume pumps aren't really desired as they pump way too much oil up to the rocker covers and with stock drain backs doesn't help the cause!
try HPR30 oil...gives better pressure at hot idle, lubricates and puts a nice film on all the bearings.
my modified standard volume jp oil pump...
