    Fuel tank leaking fuel

Today I removed the cover from the fuel pump to find it still hasn't leaked. I trimmed the edges of the piece of floor that was removed so that it can fit easily inside the cut hole. I found that there is a 3-4mm high gap between the cut piece of floor and the cut edge in the car leading to the...

    Fuel tank leaking fuel

I did think about pushing down on the pump and fittings today and thought about that saying, "let sleeping dogs lie". Going back to my original thought at the beginning was that quick connect fitting (also noted by Fu Manchu) pressing against the floor was weeping but in a normal un-rearended...

    Fuel tank leaking fuel

So, a little frustrating update that almost made me scream every swear word known to mankind over and over, but I took a deep breath and didn't because undoing the cover today after he drove for 100km the last 2 days revealed absolutely no fuel on top of the tank. Nothing, nada, zip, zero and I...

    Fuel tank leaking fuel

I know right! it's the weirdest thing ever. Once it's figured out, there are a few mechanical shops and one holden dealership hanging to know and I guess learn.

No, they were all replaced. Had a good look at them when the sub frame came down.

    Fuel tank leaking fuel

That was my thought. Saw a couple of YouTube vides of people installing them over in the states and this one appears to be closer. My eldest thinks they stretched repaired that part of the floor to compensate for the rails and replaced it. The cover has now provided plenty of room.

    Fuel tank leaking fuel

A little update. Yesterday I cut and installed the fuel pump cover inside the car. Here are a couple of photos. This is the floor of the series 2 2012. Compared to our 2006 floor is a little different, being the raised strengthening ribs and area near the seat belt mounting point. Also, the...

    Fuel tank leaking fuel

We (my eldest son who is the panel beater and I) cut a piece of hard wood and using a jack we slowly eased the floor up until it rested 4mm higher but just at the pump location so that it can easily be reversed by popping it back. This was before the second tank was tried. The only thing we...

    Fuel tank leaking fuel

Didn't realize this photo was taken first time the tank was removed from the car and here is why I'm suspecting the floor of the (rearended) car. Bear in mind we did push the floor up about 4mm and still leaks.

    Fuel tank leaking fuel

We have gone through 3 fuel lines while one of them being brand new, 2 cannisters (both had unrestricted flow) but there was still fuel on top of the tank. I don't have access to a borescope unfortunately. Evap solenoid was changed for genuine new then went through the process of a tech computer...

    Fuel tank leaking fuel

Is it possible to see the pics and the get a copy of the floor sheet? I spoke to an engineer about this mystery fuel leak and has an out of the box suggestion that the fuel tank is being squeezed against the floor of the car and pushing on the fuel line. Hopefully adding the fuel cover might...

    Fuel tank leaking fuel

The car my wife and I drive is a 2006 Calais v, so I'll try and take photos of it and comparing with his car and document the installation of the access panel.

    Fuel tank leaking fuel

A small update. Fuel and vapor lines are not blocked, kinked or split. Evap solenoid needs to be replaced. Fuel pressure on the low side was, 58 @ idle - 60 @ 1500rpm - 42 @ 3000rpm - 40 @ idle. So, we dug deep into the tech computer and made the car relearn everything and resulted in a constant...

    Fuel tank leaking fuel

Got a friend of mine to test the injectors and Number 1 was stuck open and number 3 was down to 13% flow. Looked like it was just jammed in. Someone a while ago had ago at it. Going to retest the fuel pressure this weekend if my test kit and tech computer gets returned. Defiantly will be...

    Fuel tank leaking fuel

Hi thanks for your input. The engine side is sorted, new injectors, cleaned rails, checked all connections and hoses, checked high pressure pump for leaks and all new gaskets. Cleaned the ports and manifold. Dejunked the throttle body (it was an easy 10mm thick all around and inside the...

[VE] How to install fog lights to a 2008 S1 VE Omega using the factory switch.

G'day. Just bridge the wire on the bcm so that it works like it would factory by talking to your instrument cluster and auto shut off via the bcm. Don't go directly to the switch, well, you can but highly not recommended.

[VE] How to install fog lights to a 2008 S1 VE Omega using the factory switch.

Hi all. So many people ask and get me to do this and I don't mind at all, so here it is in writing, it's no secret (sorry electricians out there) that you just need a negative trigger from the switch. To keep it simple, my son's car had no factory options for fog lights. He brought the car...

    VE 2006 Calais startup faults

G'day everyone. Im a new member. Our current Ride is a 2006 VE Calais V 3.6 auto. Brought the car second hand with 142000kms but the car is near immaculate.
