Soon after posting this question i found centreline and yes your right, Chris does not bullshit and knows his stuff really well! he fixed the issue too, it was worn caster radius bushings. the car feels like new! and the handling is a lot better now with the poly bushings.

i think it was because the second hand brakes i bought didnt come with them, so i included them in the total cost of the job. also, im pretty sure the existing bolts were low strength, and although most likely suitable, i feel better using higher tensile bolts in something like brakes!

Nope you cant. it looks like it should fit, as in the lengths to the cat are perfect but the flange with one bolt either side of the pacies is rotated 90 degrees to the flange on the stock cats.. basically you have to cut off the flange from the cat and weld up a new piece that they supply you...

im thinking of replacing the front shocks then getting another alignment hopefully that fixes the issue. failing that i give up.

never had any work done on sway bars etc, and it never used to do this. only after new tires. I should also add that when the car hasnt been driven in a while, at highway speeds the steering wheel shakes a bit (effect is exaggerated when its wet) but stops after 5 minutes.
