I couldn't get the cap off, it was in a real dog of a spot with hoses right on it and didn't want to start taking things apart on this blokes car. I checked the dipstick and oil was dark but no sign of coolant/ water.

no mate it def wasn't fresh, its an 88 trans am. few people have told me may be a cracked head gasket among other cooling system issues ie air in the system or bad cap etc...

Ok appealing to those with good mechanical knowledge here. I test drove a car today, and when I got it back to the owners place I opened the bonnet and after I turned it off the coolant in the reservoir started to boil, steam coming out. Any thoughts???

So I haven't had time to really suss this problem out yet but this weekend I did notice that when I tap on the box I have my amps installed in it causes the power to cut out. All wires going into my amps are tight as. Anyone got any thoughts on that??

It hasn't happened for a few days so next time it happens Im gonna check if the amp cuts right out or if it goes into protect mode.

Remote wire is fixed tight on with ends but could it be a problem under the insulation with it? It didn't have any exposed wire when I checked it...

Doesn't get very hot. Tried out 3 different amps an still does it. Forgot to mention it happens at any volume, not just when up loud.
