when you say flat battery, a little bit flat or completely dead flat
are you 100% you connected battery around the right way when you refitted...

for a drivers airbag fault 99% clock spring, i wouldnt even...
my understanding is an airbag light fault cannot be a history code

i would try disconnecting battery again
when you reconnect battery, talk nicely to your car

frankiee, bcm and ecu must be linked with tech 2 or sililar or disable security in ecu with elm?
from memory second brake switch is just above the brake light switch on pedal, second guessing myself now, does vx have second switch
have you checked the second brake switch on the pedal
try replacing crank angle sensor
sometimes they dont throw a code even though they are faulty
if the cel comes on then there is a code
what is the reoccurring code
remove panel under steering wheel
have you reset the long term fuel trims
are the mechanicals stock

connect the light grey wire position 25 to the grey/white wire position 12 will enable original fuel pump circuit

whilst you are applying torque with the socket have someone hammer the cap downwards to jar it loose

when chasing a cooling problem use straight water until you solve it then add coolant
what was the coolant like prior to this problem...
if it is stalling it is not immobilizer
as mentioned sounds more like crank angle sensor
remote not working could be caused by local interference
if you press unlock on the remote you can start the car within 30 seconds?...
what else was done at same time
be aware you need one functioning remote to use the supercheap programmer
the immobilizer must be disabled to use it

but the 4l60 tcm is wired into the car and needs to be dealt with
not going to be easy
new tcm, wiring loom, shifter
remapping, probably tailshaft length change
that just a guess probably way more
or call roadside assist
if the light is mostly turning on/off with boot simulated closed i would suspect you have a leaky transistor in the bcm not a boot lock problem

do your steering wheel controls work ok
hold down TRIP and at the same time...
the mechanic who was paid to fix it should at least tell you the airbag code for free
i doubt car will start with serv error so check fuses first...
probably blown a fuse under steering column for serv error
how about you actually fix the airbag fault instead of trying to hide it
take it back...
