So, I've now got a code 23 (Intake Air Temp Sensor Voltage High) and the fuel usage is really high. I think it's my fault though because I "cleaned" the sensor with contact cleaner when I was doing the MAF the other day so that could be it. So that's another $40 i have to spend. :(

Just checked the PCV Valve as per SavVYute's instructions. Seems to be fine. As far as the EGR is concerned, do I just pull it off and give it a clean with carny cleaner? Or is there some test I should do to it?

Also, in relation to the O2 sensors they're the 2 wire type but I honestly have no idea if that's a good/bad thing or if they can/should/shouldn't be changed to a newer style. And can anyone recommend a good brand, I'm a poor bastard for the next few weeks so the cheaper the better.

if you can't get the bonnet open you'll need to unscrew the latch while it's shut. To do this grab a long flathead screwdriver and get underneath your front bumper. You should be able to look up to where the spring/catch comes down through the body (the circular hole with the wire latch in it)...

Make sure your latch (the thing with the spring on it at the front of the bonnet) is screwed in tightly, it can come loose over time. Also, when you tighten it you'll notice it can move around a bit, you may have to experiment with tightening it in slightly different positions for it to latch...
