Hi, I have found my balance shaft bearing is shot. Makes a bad rattle when revs dropping back to idle. Will it give me any future problems if i just remove the gear? I have heard it will idle rough but is that the only thing? Wont blow up engine etc? Added Video/audio Thanks

Did a compression test and blew coolant out number 6 spark plug hole. Checked intake gaskets (newish) and they were fine. Took right head off and gasket appeared okay though original. Head surface seems fine and unwarped. Maybe a crack? Anyway, sludge everywhere so pulling engine to clean out...
