ps i got a test drive without even telling them i was going to trade in. Very nice car to drive, clutch is a little light though. Interested to read that most people that are heading in the V8 direction are all going for SSV's as opposed to the standard SS, any particular reason? Value for money?

Was offered drive away price of $38 990 for an SS Ute Manual from Robina Holden, offered me $20 000 for my 1 year old SV6 Thunder ute with genuine lid etc. Not doing it. Gonna wait it out I think!

Does anyone know why the HSV mufflers have the flange around the inside of the exhaust tips? Also after alot of driving they seem to turn a whiteish colour, almost like old copper? Has anyone else noticed this?

Im not after sound, im hoping its same as stock, its just the aesthetics. i dont suppose it would hinder resale if i just had the brackets changed?

So ive got to ask myself, is it worth modifying the brackets, or having them modified, for something I dont even know will be good or bad, does anyone know how much holden would charge for 2 ss mufflers with the chrome tips at all if anyone has purchased them?

Well that helps alot, has anyone else had this problem, if so what did they do to resolve it? I don't really wanna take it in and have a mechanic do it if I can do it myself.

Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy would they do this! So i take it the only way this can be fixed is to break the welds and move the bracket over to the desired spot? Was there a reason why they changed them or was it just so people like me would have to go buy direct from Holden? Wahh.

They didnt fit, the two rod looking things that come out of the muffler that attaches to the mounting brackets are...opposite to what they should be, which leaves them about 50mm shy of where they should be, its a 2012 SV6 Thunder and the barcode on the mufflers are a 2009, wondering why they'd...

Got SSmufflers in the mail yesterday, i have a 2012 SV6 Ute, I got under and had a look yesterday and seems to be just 4 bolts/screws to remove/replace to make the swap, tried searching the forums for a How To just incase but turned up 0

SS mufflers on a SV6 SIDI 3.6 sound ****? Drone bad? I had the single tips either side, its for aesthetics more than sound, I just dont want it to be annoying, how much louder will it be with SS mufflers?

Its just a Thunder without the GPS included, but they charge the same. The dealer told me when I was buying my Thunder they were releasing the 'Z' series and the only difference was that its the same price, without the $900 GPS, so its basically a con job by Holden selling the left over...

How much for theVCM/MACE OTR shipped? And as i know nothing about modding/working on cars (chippy) can it be done by a green horn or better left to a mechanic?

I think that eases my mind to go for the OTR, i prefer it anyway it looks more....complete rather than a bolt on box on the side. Have you fitted any of these to a few cars yet orjust the one test unit? If so what are the results over stock :) i love my ute but im already hungry for more power!

So id be better off just going with the OTR? What happens when I put it in for service and they see it? Do they take note of that or?

I only just recently bought a Thunder ute (SIDI) and asked if it would void any warranties putting a CAI on, and they said it wouldnt so long as it isnt OTR, any reason why this would be? As OTR are better than normal behind the headlight CAI's right? Thanks.
