so i managed to get some stockies and a set of 3 inch flappers ... used to have them on my other car ages ago and loved them so thought i had to get a set for the calais ! i think they look good especially for a change up from the alloys

i kind of thought the same thing when i put it on because i've always hated chevy badges on holders ! the only reason i but it on was because i got it off a mate and thought it looked cool which it does but i can see why some people wouldn't like it

i can understand because you have a genuine international ! i just got it off a mate so i thought i may as well put it on because it looks good but i can see there will be people who don't agree with it ... i just reckon it ads to the rear end with the boot lip

i went out with the camera the other day and took a few good photo's as well ! also a couple with my mates VS calais some interior photo's in there as well

yeah that would have been me mate ! i live around the area so i'm down there pretty often !

i got the bootlip sprayed and fitted today and i love it ! it really ads an extra touch to the calais

so i managed to get my hands on a genuine HSV VN Commodore LS bootlip ! i picked it up for only $70.00 and was in pretty good condition ... here is a picture of it when i got it

yeah got both shoes on ! haha but thanks mate i love how they came out and the defect is gone thank god

also happened to pick up one of these off a mate of mine ! now i know it isn't an international calais nor is it a V8 ! but i reckon it looks cool and for something so little it adds an extra touch especially because it is a genuine badge

i got defected last week for too low at the rear ! also for a missing wheel stud and a bald tyre ... got all of it fixed up today so i'm going through the pits tomorrow ! hopefully goes well

good to see another clean vp calais out there ! have a look at mine if you ever get bored ! love the colour of this as well ... not sure if people have said this already but the two things i'd be looking at doing is colour code door handles and clear side indicators ! they make a big difference

today i finished polishing all the rims and they came up a treat ! basically like a mirror now let me know what you all think

so today my venetians came ! looks good i reckon i still haven't finished polishing the other two rims but hopefully i'll have them done by the end of this week but will keep you guys updated

thanks mate ! i love them too but i won't be touching the outside mate just polishing the rims, whitewalls or flappers and a boot lip that's it just want it clean ! ah i'd love a v8 but already saving for when i get my full licence for a vz thunder ute (ls2)

well i'll make an effort to get to the one after this one mate ! yeah did the lip by hand ! that was probably the hardest bit buy i ended up using 120 grit for that to start off with which pretty much ate up all the machined grooves quite easily s worked well ! i yeah i'd give it a go...

cheers for the comments everyone else ! and it definitely won't be getting wrapped around a tree also i'd say to go for it and polish them up mate it's well worth it trust me

i'll be taking care of it for sure ! i started by using an orbital sander with 120 grit to take out the original machined lines then continued sanding by hand with 180, 240, 400, 800, 1200, 1500 & 2000 then used autosol metal polish with a machine buffer ! takes like 2 hours a rim but well worth...

i've finished two of them ! came out great i'm unto 800 grit on the other two so not long to go should be done by the end of the week but will put pictures up of the two i have finished in a sec i'm trying to find venetians and a boot lip ! if you know of anyone that has either let me know...

i run them in the front and rear and i've spoken to police and they said it's too low in the rear by 15mm but the front is fine ! thanks for the compliment on the walls mate

i've also decided to not go ahead with the internationals ! instead i am going to sand down and polish the original vp calais rims this weekend then get new rear tyres and get my whitewalls re done hopefully all by next wednesday i hope

so i had tyres put on monday and picked them up tuesday afternoon and put them on as soon as i got home ... here are some pictures with them on ! i am very heppy with how they look/sit

so i've sold the vy ss rims that originally came on it and have gone out and bought a set of series 2 VE SSV rims ! just had them machined and now only waiting on tyres ... should be on by monday arvo
