He says he has disabled vats with his scanner? I think that can be only the bcm side of things? So the pcm won't allow the start because no signal from the bcm to allow the start?
I thought it was the pcm that controled the spark, then once the engine is running it hands it over to the dfi?
I'm probably wrong?
Was goning to look it up in the workshop manual, but l've been sick for the past week, & to much effort.
What l can do is give a link to the workshop manual. It's...
I think @lout was more referring the firing order. You can plenty of spark, but if not the correct sequence, won't do much except backfire through the air intake, which said happened on start you bastard.
Fuel side sounds ok.
Electrical. With the stalling & not starting, cas or dfi?
Start with the dfi, disconnect dfi plug from the dfi. now check the pins on the plug?
Are any burnt or bent?
When the car is locked, does the mode switch red light blink?
When the car is unlocked, does the mode light go off?
If that light goes off, now try & start the car.
That mode light is what is called vats which means vehicle anti theft system.
On my vt if l don't start the car within 30...
What l thinking was that maybe the leak was where a pipe had to disconnected to get the trans out & reconnected to get it back in,& that maybe where the leak is?
Won't know until he looks?
What blew the fuse? I don't know, l can only guess. From what l ahave read on this forum, the flasher unit is located in the bcm.
I've also read that they can be replaced?
My vt was blowing fuses, when l used the remote locking & unlocking. I kept blowing the fuse after checking each quarter...
I think maybe they are talking about leaving a small gap, so as to line up the torque convertor bolt holes to the flex plate holes.
Sometimes when you tighten the bellhousing bolts to engine & then remember you haven't installed the tc to fp bolts yet, & can't move the crank bolt or the tc to...
They are easy to install l have read. But l had my transmission guy supply & fit for $50.00.
I was originally gonna say f#ck that on the price, but forgot. ;) :) hahahaha
I noticed my front seal was leaking, when you had the rear of the trans up in the air.
I rang my tranny specialist & said he would supply & fit the seal for $50.00.
So, l dropped the trans of to him in the morning, & pick it up in afternoon.
I went to Swinburne Technical school. Wouldn't let us use the tools, as in welders, lathes, grinders. Stuff like like that, in case we cut a hand off or similar, & they got sued by our parents?
Moved to nsw & went to a high school. All the kids new how to use those tools l mentioned earlier...
What about Scotch college?
I think there is a few more of those colleges around that area?
But then closer to home, there's Geelong college. Prince charlie ( you know him as King Charles) attended there. Forget the year.
Then there is all the Tafe colleges.
Then what about all the girls...
Thats a cork gasket. I didn't use.
If you want to, go for it.
On the 6L50 l've kept using the original aluminium gasket, when changing the filter.
I didn't know both trannies used the same gasket & filter.
Needs to be as low, so tranny can go under the car. Once under the car, it needs to raised, to line up with the engine.
The way you've got it, is going to be real bitch, wrestling the tranny to get boards under it. Then once you've got one under it, then repeat, repeat, repeat & so on, until...
How many other keys are on the car key ring?
Over the years l've coninually heard to many keys on the car key ring stuffs the barrel. It the weight of all the keys that stuffs the barrel.
Left a set of sockets at the wreckers, couple of weeks ago.
So, this is what l replaced them with.
Came from face book market place.
Where it said they where located was Point Cook. On the way to Melbourne. That would add about $20.00 in fuel to the costs.
$10.00 in the post, which was through...
Thats good that you are using the 3 ton stands.
Hope there not the ratchet type?
To wheel the jack with the trans under my car (vt wagon). I bring it out & in from the rear.
But l have the rear stands sitting on 8" x 8" x 4" concrete pavers.
That allows the rear of car to sit high enough to...
