    VP power windows not working

To be honest Grega, I'm not really sure. I think its time I take it to an auto electrician.

    VP power windows not working

Out of interest what are the two relays mounted to the left of the fuse box? They have a lot of orange wires coming out of them and aren't shown on the diagram.

    VP power windows not working

Thanks for the advice mudgy, Today I tried re soldering the back of the switches as recommended by an autoelectritian, but that didn't solve it. I also tried replacing the circuit breaker fuse and relay but that didn't help either. I've got a feeling that it's the control unit which I believe...

    VP power windows not working

Thanks for the response hi-ryder. It is a 92 VP calais. I'm pretty sure it is the BMC style (no black box under the steering wheel). I really don't think it is the fuse/circuit breaker, but I'll try a different (third) one tomorrow to be sure. Ryan

    VP power windows not working

Hi all. The windows in my VP calais stopped working all of a sudden. The fuse/circuit breaker and relays are still good. What else can I check? Ive been told that a common problem with these is solder joins under the switch. Has anybody ever heard of that? Cheers Ryan

    VP interior illumination fuse blowing

So I still have this problem. I have discovered that if I leave the globe out of the Dome, the fuse won't blow. But it sucks not having a dome light. I've removed the dome fitting and checked for shorts but there is nothing there. What else can I look for? Ryan

    Rc nitro

I've just bought my first RC car. I went electric because they are simple. I bought a Tamiya m05 as they are cheap and my local track has a race class for them. Upgraded with a brushless 13t motor it goes really well. Next on my list are a vintage buggy and a touring car.

    Bonnet Adjustment

I had some luck yesterday and found a good hinge from a VR. Even better was the fact that it was the same colour. Fitted it and the bonnet is now great.....on that passenger side. Unfortunately the drivers side is now out. I had a quick attempt to adjust it, but I have a feeling that the hinge...

    Bonnet Adjustment

Thanks to the advice on here I have diagnosed it as a bent hinge. Upon further research, this was/is a common problem and has been happening since these cars were reasonably new. They are a poorly designed/made part. It also appears as though it is more common on the passenger side which makes...

    Bonnet Adjustment

Thanks for the response. How is the height adjusted? I have a feeling it could be the hinge that is bent. It would be just my luck.

    Bonnet Adjustment

Hi guys, A while back my bonnet was reversed into on the passenger side. They barely touched it and only left a little mark, but the bonnet is now out of alignment on that side. When opening the bonnet the back passenger corner moves back and actually touches the windscreen. However when...

    VP Calais Light Switch

Fixed it today. When I took it apart it was obvious that someone (possibly my grandfather) had previously fixed it using an epoxy. It had simply come away again with time. So I fixed it again and it's working like new until next time. Ryan

Well it took me a while to do, but I finally got around to fixing this. The switch had just been bent to the left a bit, so I levered it back over with a long handle, job done in less than a minute. Ryan

    Park light stays on

Hi guys, It seems that my car is having more and more problems. One that is bugging me is that if I release the handbrake the park light on the dash stays on and it makes a beeping noise. However, if I push it slightly to the left as I put it down, the light will go off. It is simply a...

    VP Calais Running Rough

Well, it was a dead spark plug lead. Upon testing all the leads they all were a bit crappy. New set of leads and plugs cleared the issue right up. It was a bit odd because it felt totally different to the last car that had an ignition lead failure.

Checked the fault codes, got a 12, so that all good. Changed the fuel filter. It did run better, but the stutter is still there. Hopefully it will clear up a bit more. Its going to the mechanic later in the week. So I will drive the sunday car between now and then. oh and I checked the...

    VP Calais Running Rough

it stutters at idle a little bit but gets worse when trying to accelerate. I checked coolant level, it doesn't seem low, but then again I didn't drive it for very long. I will try swap out the filter tomorrow. The reason I think its fuel is because I had just filled up the tank.

    VP Calais Running Rough

Hi all, I was driving home the other night and my 92 VP V6 Calais started to stutter a bit. By the time I got home it was stuttering a lot and really lacked power. My gut feeling says it is a blocked fuel filter as it sort of came in surges, but I haven't had a look yet. Any other suggestions...

    VP boot leak

Just an update: I haven't actually done anything else yet. VP boot leak

I think so, the only other spot the water could be getting in is through the two screws that hold the fuel full flap on. The water comes into the boot where the rear wheel arch meets the rear quarter panel and boot floor just below the fuel filler.
