I'm not totally sure how it works but maybe your maf is dirty and not calculating the right amount of air on the intake side so by the time it's comes out the exhaust there's it confuses the ecu

Sounds old should be red research on how to purge it for your veichles and put new stuff in ...might not fix it but it's a cheap process of elimination ..when you put new stuff in your going to have to work the air out of the system after filling turn steering full lock side to side a few times...

What colour is the power steering fluid might be realy old not doing its job needs to be emptied and replaced ..never owned a vz not sure about the rest good luck

No idea how hot was the car maybe the electric fan kicked in then stopped they usually start and stop at certain temps could have something stuck in it or fanmotors on its way out

Lots plot flaws in your in your post like someone offered you 18k today at the petrol pump then someone offered you 14k online but your holding out for 16 ..why not take the 18k you were offered?

And don't trust him look for codes I took some advice from ppl of this forum without looking for codes saying it's most likely this or that usually this replaced those things without checking codes ddnt solve the problem checked for codes was something completely different replaced that part...

Could be a det sensor I would amagine the engine might go into limp mode if the car was detonating or the the sensor was playing up ....also if it has sensor on the catolyc converter and to much fuel is igniting in there

Have you tried pulling it forward toward the box and off the donut lowering it then pull back out of box providing you undone the hanger

They proberly couldn't be fucked ...there is a write up on here if you do a search on how to bridge the pins on the scanning port to get codes ...

I would check if you have a hydrolic clutch if so bleed and make sure it's the right level ..check linkages are good ...I never had a vz manual so not sure but those are the usual easy fixes places to start ..maybe research hydrolic clutch and linkages for vz

Could be the diff needs new oil get the penrite gear oil spec for your make model with smooth shift additives in it undo the bottom bolt at rear of diff empty oil out then do the bolt back up and undo the big botlt towards top middle right and fill easy

Maybe lost the rock since the last time you heard it try taking it out do a few turns see if it happens again

Rock in your tire tred maybe

And relays can swap around with same type to make sure there working

Check fuses under bonnet place to start

also bit of an obscure one is thats mention to check is the purge valve solenoid

black smoke is running rich ,,,could be 02 sensors.. maf ..fuel regulator ..injectors as you say ..i would start by checking your fuel pressure making sure the regulator is working properly cleaning maf checking for codes etc ..i had 300zx did that checked all those things had no luck myself...

take it to mechanic they will tell you straigh5t out shouldnt cost anything

yeah i had a thrust bearing go on a nissan pulsay did exactly what you discribe ddnt effect driving but its a sighn there ready to fail soon unfortunately the box has to come off to replace it mayaswell replace the clutch while your there

maybe look down the path os starter relay clean terminals on starter motor get battery tested after trying to clean battery terminals ..could try jumping it if that works then you definately got a low or rooted battery

Maybe the gear box is slipping also it's proberly got traction control

Chances are if you got rear O2 sensors the black smoke fouled them aswelll I would start by replacing them ..

Try various speed settings to fast it might not work

Could try sticking a vacuum cleaner nozzle over the vent with the fan switched on

I didn't see throttle position sensor in that list there like 30 bucks brand new you will be spewing if that's your cause

I don't know about Victoria but in w.a anything that's not stock needs an engineering certificate

Could be coming from your diff try changing the oil in it ..wouldn't surprise me commodores are usually one problem after another until there running good ..both vy ute I had needed the diff oil changed when I got them
