As it's plastic, just use a self tapping screw. You don't want to drill too big a hole and have nothing for the screw to 'bite' into.

The other problem with opening that 'hatch' in the back seat is that if you have your sunroof open, the wind buffeting is unbearable.

Mine works from the small storage space in front of the gear stick. I just leave it there.

Thanks :) I understand there would be a small amount of 'give' - the thing is though, this issue wasn't present up until 2 weeks ago, which is why I'm a little worried. I don't drive it like I stole it either, so I doubt abuse is the issue.

I'm with you on the battery/accessories turning off thing. But tbh, I'm happy that the sunroof closes when I turn the car off. I think it's a great feature. There should be an option to enable/disable these things though, like you can with the auto door lock.

Not everyone is as as savvy as your good self. Devils advocate here.... Imagine all the complaints of wet interiors because the roof DIDN'T auto close, or the countless flat batteries....
