Thanks guys, Battery terminals and earths look good. It has only happened the once at this stage. It always cranks over good when I start it but ill get the battery tested anyways. I'm leaning towards the alternator at this stage but hard to tell as it hasn't happened again. Fingers crossed

low end torque is lost as soon as you get bigger with your cam anyways. Just rev her up, that's what they are for :) Plenty of second hand manifolds around too that could work for you already set up with injectors etc.

What were your concerns on the come manifold?

Maybe just ring holden and get them to do a part number search on both models. I always thought they were the same though

Well it turns out there are two sizes of pressure plate for the old 5.0 I had the wrong one and have now been able to source another one to suit so all will be good tomorrow hopefully. Fingers crossed

If it were only that. The bolt holes are 15mm further spaced out across the pressure plate. The bolts were very tight into the plate but bolt holes did not align in the flywheel so somethings not standard or correct

It definitely has large gouges in it so I don't think a machine will cut it I'm afraid. The flywheel is marked holden on the rear so its genuine. I'm thinking the pressure plate is based off a early red 308 maybe but I havnt found anything to prove my theory The fixing bolts has shoulders...

You are correct. it lives at the bcm location under rhs of dash. If it picks up a high resistance or open circuit in a lighting circuit it will illuminate a light in the instrument cluster

just make sure it is also from a vs. the vr and vs have different security languages and are not interchangeable. If not correct it will not start
