I think it will always be a tight fit trying to fit changed tail lights, I helped a mate do his with genuine tail lights and it was a very tight squeeze. Are you impressed with the quality of the item?

Possibly an alternator or throttle wire, do you find the revs jumping around when you are driving? or going so low that it will nearly stall? Or maybe dirty spark plugs? This used to happen to my old VX all the time, could be a different problem though

I say just keep looking around, it took me a little over 2 months to find some genuine R8s I got four rims with tyres for <$500. Check out gumtree, some people sell things they know absolutely nothing about. You shouldn't need to have your guards rolled with genuine HSV rims.

KU39s wear a lot quicker than the KU31's. Noisy tyres are irrelevant if you have a proper exhaust!!
