Sorry it's been so long for an update on this thread, since my last post this car has been sucsuccessful in passing a tier 2 inspection and is now registered in south Australia. It failed the first attempt and it wasn't for the cam or for being too loud...go figure...it was denied for the window...

Just an update for those who wanted to know the outcome of this thread. So basically it was rather easy to disguise the mafless tune, after disassembling the OTRCAI and assembling the original air box, MAF, throttle body piping and radiator shroud, the car kicked over fine and drove well, you...

I have the SS badges coming on ebay as we speak, the tip im not too fussed with at this stage but im sure it will happen, the rims are a little bit the same way but i really think it would look nice with the standard 2006 SS wheels, so that will happen in time, anyone else got any ideas?

Yeah it does nearly every time mark! even with traction control on it still wants to misbehave, i think it's because of the stall converter and the fact that it's tuned to shift gears a little differently. You live around this way mate?

Yeah we don't heaps enjoy each others company, I should imagine even less now considering that I'll be firing it up near everyday and let it lump over till it's warm too, there is one guy here who has a decent car and looks like an enthusiast, shame he's such a wanker though :/

Just a very brief example of the car idling at this point, I live in a block of flats at the moment so i couldn't really step on it too much.

yeah I can't really say too much about it at this stage, but it will be registered either before I go to Thailand or just after I return, so 4 weeks at the very most. Can't wait!

fluke as a number plate, that's a fait comment if I've ever heard one! All is going to be fine with the inspection, I have a bit of a plan but I won't be doing anything for at least 2 weeks at this stage, regency would never pass the car the way it is now...I'll get out the go pro and get some...

Well guy's, today was D-day, a lot changed since my last post claiming that I would go and pick the car up, instead I decided to wait for delivery, and today FINALLY, my car arrived..... Can I firstly just say that the car is here in one piece and looks better than ever, on top of that it...

I'm heading out to brisbane this friday night and driving it back, I will never use a freight company for cars ever again. what a nightmare...really hope this story has a good ending :/

Just an update, don't use Ceva for interstate car transport guys... my car is still sitting in the depot in Brisbane and I just found out that I won't see it until at least half way through September after being quoted (and payed for) a 2 week turn around...It's been hard enough waiting this...

Don't quote me here cause this may not be correct, but... I had a similar issue in a vs s2 v6, thought the entire unit was stuffed cause it stalled EVERTHING, turns out the car had a very minor AC leak and purged out over the winter, so the AC was shutting itself down to protect it against...

@lowndes8, yeah mate I reckon your on the path to success with that comment, pretty sure if I can bolt it up in such a way where they can't see the wire I might go the same way. You watch, I'll go to all this trouble and they'll send me through for a roadworthy for something totally...

Just to answer my own question...I rang holdens to ask if there was any difference between the 5.7 and the 6.0 maf's and apparently there is. i was told that the 5.7 is the same accross the ls1 range but the 6.0 has 2 varieties, apparently they have a 2nd type of maf that suits the HSV...
