May as well yell at the clouds, as nobody gives a stuff about problems that don't involve them personally. Idiots, dickwits and numbnuts are just oxygen thieves. Clouds provide a bit of shelter from the sun, and rain.

Another 18 months, you will catch me. ;) Geez, this forum is full of old farts. Luckily, I don't have any physical impairments ( yet), just the old fart mental problems with idiots, dickwits and numbnuts, as I have been officially told ( by RAAF and another long term employer) for 50 years...

One of my grandsons 'graduated ' from kindy to real school ....................... complete with certificate, blue gown and headboard. My comment when I saw the photo was something to do with ripoffs and following US BS, which didn't impress his parents much.

    Scary moment in my Ute.....

Don't know if a LSD will cure that problem. My 5 litre VN Calais (1989) had LSD, and it would just slide sideways in the conditions you experienced. Gently, softly, it was to get going. The Monaro has the very intrusive traction control that is annoying, but more effective in staying straight...

    Things that p*** you off/bug you/annoy you

Two things from this morning ............. Drivers who think that the Top10 Shootout at Bathurst is the same as a supermarket carpark >>> Usually women. Drivers who think it is OK to leave their car at the servo pump, while they make a coffee, and look for a snack >>> Usually men.

I enjoy driving around our big brown and red land, stopping at little places and talking to people. But I am not a grey nomad towing an expensive front garden ornament. But agree that here is a limit to how far you can drive without getting bored by Mulga trees and rocks, with only a few road...

Hope it is not the Westgate Bridge. Didn't it fall down ? No, wait. That was the Tasman Bridge. I saw the Torana GTR-X being driven around the Bathurst showground last century. Found out 50 years later it was really a plastic body over a kiddies Austin A40 pedal car. True !

We are due for another conspiracy theory. Must admit that when I saw it, it never occurred to me that it was a just cardboard cutout, painted by kindy kids. Fooled me.:(

what did you do to your car today?

" ................ Interesting. That sounds like lifters, or water pump, or tensioner, or injectors, or a loose headlight, or a ball-bearing in the combustion chamber, or the clutch, or a rear wheel bearing. or loose change in the console. I will get my best apprentice to replace all of those...

Buying unregistered interstate, am I missing anything?

If that is the case, I wish him all future fortunes, as I had enough NSW RMS headbangs getting the QLD regoed, perfectly roadworthy Crewman transferred to my name and NSW rego. What a PITA runaround that took 3 days of my retired life.

what did you do to your car today?

As members are confessing their speeding sins ......... Forgive me, as I have also been led astray for a good reason. 'Somewhere', south of Gatton last year, I got stuck behind a semi carrying cattle on a minor road. Been there before with the waft and other stuff of cattle byproducts, so kept...

Buying unregistered interstate, am I missing anything?

Unless you are getting a rooly, rooly cheap deal from the dealer, save yourself a lot of unnecessary farnarkling and head-bangs, and tell him to register it in your name at the RMS Queanbeyan. Then you can drive it (with insurance) yourself back to Sydney.

    Things that p*** you off/bug you/annoy you

All the publicity about how Colesworths are ripping customers off and making excessive profits is only another 'tryhard' Fed Govt effort to divert attention from whatever they don't want to talk about this week. Yeah ..... fine them trillions of $$$$, and make them sell half of their outlets to...

Things that make you go .... "Hmmm ? "

Drove through Raymond Terrace yesterday. What was a Caltex servo, is now a 'U-Go' unmanned, self-serve, pay at the pump outlet. Dunno when that was changed, and never seen that brand before. Prices, depending on octane, were 20c > 30c less than other servos in the area, as 98 ranges from about...

    Holden Hurricane

I know this is an old thread, but some of the comments made 13 years ago about the design are just ............ :( Obviously, they were not around when it was released, and do not understand anything of its significance to Australian / Holden engineering and capability. I hope those members are...

Things that make you go .... "Hmmm ? "

Went shopping this morning for Her, and as I don't mind Rocklea Road chocolate, though that I might blow some of my $22 tax credit. $5 for a 145g block, or $14 for a 290g block ........ do the maths o_O. So, I bought 3 blocks of 145g at $5 each. Not on 'special' either. Mentioned it to the...

Things That Leave you Gobsmacked (In A Good Way)

Last year I got a tax bill of $1,000 ( cos I'm rich apparently ! :D ) instead of a refund as per previous years. So I paid it straight away, rather than waiting for the due date. Today I got a letter from the ATO with details of all my return stuff back to 2017 ........... fark nose why. All...

what did you do to your car today?

But, back in the olden days, it gave you something to do every couple of weekends with a leaky carb, and adjusting the timing, setting the points, or if you are really keen, pull the head off to de-coke and lap the valves. No time to sit around, looking at a modern perfectly serviceable car...

    EV cars.

The Victorian EV tax on kms driven failed in the Federal Court. Then NSW abandoned a similar proposed tax. Only the Fed Govt can impose a similar tax equivalent to the fuel excise revenue raising. That is unlikely to happen as the present Labor Govt is dead set on getting everyone into an EV at...

    EV cars.

Innamincka is a bit isolated ( but you could drive anything to there on a sealed road from Brisbane) and all the roofs are covered with solar panels ( which don't work at night, Albo) and a dirty big diesel generator for the electron supply. VF SS wheels

My experience with 2 scrappy CV8R rims that I got as spares. Under the 'clear coated machined' spokes was a grey primer that was time consuming to remove back to the metal. The clear coat sort of peeled off in pieces. Polished up the bare metal spokes, again time consuming, and clear coated the...

If you don't like them, take them off, buy what you like, fit the tyres, and store the original rims until you sell the car. Why do I know this ? Cos ridiculous prices for OE rims that I should have kept.

Losh's latest, 955 Triumph Sprint ST

I think you may, or not, get used to 'expensive' bits. Mate who had the Sprint was forced into the gravel by an oncoming car taking too much of the road, and dropped it. All covered by insurance, but the wait for fairings and handlebar stuff was long and the repair cost ........ "Wow." The...

    Vf2 SS's, who's still got their's from new?

Yeah, the plastic guards are a bit much. But it is in keeping with the current SUV style of "Look at me, I'm pretending to be an offroad 4WD"

    Vf2 SS's, who's still got their's from new?

Good choice in my opinion. My daughter decided to get a new car (for her, not the now grown-up family) at the height of the COVID shortage and inflated retail prices. We looked at what was theoretically available .......... crossed off turbos, DCTs, CVTs, and Chinese ..... ended up with...

    EV cars.

Cars are going to end the world, and we are all guilty ! ! And yet very little seems to be said about boats full of rich, drunken tourists going for a cruise from somewhere to nowhere and back for no good reason other than to eat, drink alcohol, and be obnoxious whenever they get off at an...

    Changing Wheels on a 2006 VE VS6

Dunno about TAS, but in NSW ....... " You must not fit wheels with rim widths less than the minimum width fitted by the vehicle manufacturer for the particular model. " VE SV6 came with 18 x 8, so 18 X 7.5 is not approved. Of course, you could argue about the term "model" meaning, and what...
