    Exhaust & Cold Air Induction

I read people say void warranty but your would already be voided without any mods since its a 2008 model. I would go a SS Inductions Growler instead of the OTR(I've had both on mine) OR the Wilkinshaw one which is the same one really just a different sticker. that will look almost factory and...

    Ss Inductions

I don't think it really makes any difference what size intake it is or if its better if one type of CAI let's in more air than another as the two words that really matter in CAI is, wait for it, it's not volume it's COLD AIR. Why does COLD AIR matter you may ask, because the colder the air the...

    exhaust VE SS

To quieter it down in car I would suggest buying 1000mm x 1300 sheet of Mass Loaded Vinyl and laying it under the boot carpet. If you got the cash spend a $1000 on Varex exhausts that way it can be stock when you want and loud whenyouwant to wake the neighbours.

    Question on Headers and Cats..

They will make more in cab noise, I lined my boot with Mass Loaded Vinyl, it's not cheap but made a big difference, if the noise becomes a problem try putting sheet under your cargo areas carpet.

Looks a little dodgy, why does he want Paypal payment up front then meet after at RTA office, surely COD would be better and no Paypal fees. Funny if no one buys them, I wouldn't be bothered.

    Help with Oil change

It's up to you if you want to change a clean filter with a new clean filter, why not change your air filter every 5000km as well? Doesn't change the fact it's pointless. Again, if you want to introduce unfiltered oil into your system it's up to you, I'm just passing on advice I received from...

    Help with Oil change

Some interesting advice here, I don't think I would be following the advice to jack your car or put it on ramps to change oil, you see the sump plug is at the front and located at the lowest point so all the oil drains out, by jacking your front or putting it on ramps your tilting your engine...

[HOLDEN] Quote $600 for my 120,000KM Service

Smaller workshops like apprentices too you know, in fact they are more likely to use them than Holden Service Centres. The thing with Holdnes is they are EXPERTS on Holdens where Joes Garage knows all car makes equally so therefor isn't an expert on Holdens or any car make for that matter, one...

    VE Auto trans service

To get the old stuff out they drain the tranny, fill it up with new stuff then run it a while then drain it again. The maths: if your tranny holds 5 litres and you drain 4 litres out that leaves 1 litre in the system, you then put 4 litres in makes the content of the tranny 20% old fluid 80%...

    Electrical Apprenticeship wanted!

Ha ha ha, youth, you won't enjoy it when you hit 40 and are crawling around in roofs, mate of mine lasted that long. Half the locomotive drivers I work with have trades, my offsides is a A-class sparkie, my last trainee was a Diesel Mechanic add on a few Boiler Makers and even 4 shearers.

Very very hot engine bay on my band new VE SS Wagon

Yep, you say your cars running hot and the advice is DONT CHECK COOLANT LEVELS? Why, too hard to lift the bonnet? Can't spare 10 seconds of time? You should regularly check coolant and oil levels (even in a new car) but if you want to follow that jokers advice be my guest. As for smell...

[HOLDEN] Quote $600 for my 120,000KM Service

The best place to get a service is at Holdens, sure you may pay a little more for labour but remember those mechanics ONLY work on Holdens and are trained by Holdens. Go to another place and prepared to be ripped off, example I once took my old VX with 80,000 on the clock to Ultratune and was...

    MY 12.5 SSV Oil

Cars don't use oil (unless there is something wrong) oil is merely a lubricant. I drove across the Nullabor and didn't use any, do you have a leak? That would be my guess, either that or you measured wrong first time. Have you got the pigs dick dip stick?

Achilles ATR Sport VS Hankook Ventus K114 or K110

Try Nitto Motivo's, they're a US brand but owned by Toyo, they are a high tread wear tyre. Buy off eBay, you will get good tyres at half the price, personally I steer clear on ATR, LingLongs or any brand that comes with a mag wheel combo.

I just weighed my spare tyre and jack - Weight reduction

To reduce weight even more you can drain the radiator, drain engine oils out, remove spare seating, stereo and speakers door trims, boot lid and bumper bars and even have a **** and a piss before you drive. So no spare wheel, what do you do if you get a flat tyre at the shops?

    VE redline Brembos

Do you have 19 or 20 inch wheels, I just bought new mags for my car and had to fit over my Brembo, I got Speedy Invo in 20 inch as the 19 inch ones I could barely slide a piece of paper between the wheels and the caliber but plenty of room with the 20 inch ones.....I believe the OP had 20 inch rims

    Idiots with HID's!

Cops have quotas to fill so don't bank on getting off, I agree with Fog lights on in the city, every time I see a car with his on I turn mine on too. H7 Low Bean HID Kit road legal?

LOW BEAM it's illegal without Projector Headlight, Self Levelling Headlights and Headlight Washers. Go the legal option and HID in Hi Beam (you dont need them in Low Beam) just remember that they take a while to warm up to full brightness. If you do country trips like me you might try Spotties...
