Thanks for the responses. Now you mention it I can never hear the fuel pump priming (even when it did work) will get a mate to help me out and ill stick my head under to listen. Otherwise it looks like new injectors/clean injectors etc. sik_dose: I have a wagon with the 55L donut tank so 1 tank...

Gas good but not running on petrol

Hi all Ok so my VS had a dual fuel setup installed a year or so ago and recently it no longer runs on petrol. I have to manually set it to gas each time and it does start and runs normally on gas once it's going. If I try to switch to petrol while running it coughs a few times then dies...

    VN For Fun

Actually we did have one of those old brown subaru 4wd wagons a few years ago and it was quite good fun (if a bit slow due to its age) Unfortunately I hit a tree with it and it moved the entire front wheels/axel/steering etc to the right about a foot or two. The other thing that made me...

    VN For Fun

Sold Do you deliver to Perth??? :P One of my concerns is road legal (has to transit on roads for a fair bit) so finding datsuns still licenced is hard. I'll keep an eye on Datsuns but I still like the idea of something with more go like a 6 cyl.

    VN For Fun

I'm looking at buying an oldish commodore for spare/fun in a newly aquired paddock. Alot of VNs are around for very reasonable prices around $1000. My question is... what problems (other then those listed previously in the sticky) are there to look for in VN that might get hammered a little (as...

    Indicators Stuffed

Why does this always happen to me. Ok well i pulled the dash out and fixed up the hazard switch so my hazards work fine now but the indicators still dont work and just make a very rapid clicking sound when i go to use them. To save me the trouble can anyone tell me if this is likely to be a...

    Indicators Stuffed

Actually talk of hazard switch reminds me now. The hazards havent worked for some while now. They stopped functioning when i installed my new deck despite the fact i never went near the hazards panel or fuse. Hrmmmm I hope i dont have to rip the whole dash apart to get at that :S

    Indicators Stuffed

Hi My 97 VS2 Exec Wagon's indicators have basically died. I started it once and they wouldnt work so i turned it off then back on again, this time when i went to use them there was a repetitive clicking sound like the clicker thing that goes when they are on repeating very very fast for about a...

    4 Channel Amp, 2 Subwoofers, 1 Input?

Hey. Thanks for that mate. Subs are in, I re wired them so they were individual and bridged 2 channels together for each. Running great at the moment.

    4 Channel Amp, 2 Subwoofers, 1 Input?

Hey all, this might seem like a silly question, but... I have a 4 channel amp to power 2 subwoofers in 1 box. At the moment the box has just one input that just splits to both subs. When wiring my amp should I either 1) Simply split the rca input across both bridged channels and just join the...

    Front VS Door Speakers Quality?

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I am definately using the crossover that came with the splits. A little fiddling with bass and treble controls on the stocko tape player poc have made a big improvement so it looks like the new deck should solve the problem. Looking foward to that.

    Front VS Door Speakers Quality?

Half a VS q, half audio but here will do. I just put a set of splits in the front drivers side door of my VS and they are sounding a little out (basing out at low vol compared to stock speakers on passenger side). They are a decent kicker set so i have 2 suspicions, 1. that the vs stock wiring...

VS Wagon Amp - Lotsa room but nowhere to go.

Hey, seemingly silly question. Where have people mounted amps in VS Wagons. Being a wagon putting it in the back is clearly a no goer and under the front seats there doesnt really seem to be enough room (and its on an angle sloping upwards to the centre console). Any ideas anyone?

    Third Manufacturer for V8 Supercars

Its been made clear that the car must be Australian made and we wont see nissans unless they start a plant here (aint gonna happen). So we'll get toyota or mitsubishi ie prob heavilly modified camrys or magnas which to me arnt really rice burners. Besides as stated the engines are American...

Codec Im pretty sure you need the Xvid codec based on the file properties. Ive put up a win32 installer for it here: www.iinet.net.au/~dellar4/dvd/XviD-1.0.1-05.exe If you dont trust me or whatever I'll let you know that the file you download from the Xvid official site is uncompiled so...

    Third Manufacturer for V8 Supercars

Hrmm i spose it would mean the ford fans can say that they at least beat someone. Im pretty sure another requirement is that the car must be rear wheel drive (not that i can imagine a big v8 in east/west but ive seen north/south front wheel drives before) so that rules out a quick convert of a...

P Platers and High Performance cars.....

Not really, if they are going to do it they will do it, untrained or not. If they are taught safer ways to go about it then that surely cant hurt. Yes i never said that young people dont die, they do and its a tradgedy but most of the accidents you refer to involve illegal street racing...

    The Great Race

Come on they mentioned that kangaroos have been wondering out for years you think you could see it coming. Sure thats one of the best things bout the supercars is it aint 2 predicable (ie F1 the most boring race ever nothing happens). I didnt mean a fence around the track i mean i would have...

P Platers and High Performance cars.....

Yeah people are dying. Call me cold but people have been dying in car accidents since cars were introduced. Driving is inherently dangerous. Its just as easy to wrap a chirade around a tree as it is in a ferrari. Lumping it all on P platers because they are easy targets is to me despicable...

P Platers and High Performance cars.....

Quite often. Over in WA during holidays its non stop on the news "the elderly driver lost control of his 4wd and hit a tree" People keep saying limit to 4 cyl. WHY? There are some serrious problems with that idea because my 86kW 6 pulls a 1.3t car around but there are plenty of 4s with ALOT...

Which is better you decide but specify why!

Yeah the VT1 was a body change i dont know if there was much done mechanically coz theyd pretty much perfected the ecotech on the VS it was just minor mechanical changes i would have thought with the brand new body keeping them busy for the change.

    Protection mode on Amp....

Its probably just getting affected by power spikes from starting your car. The best way I'd recomend to fix it would be to set up a relay connected to the original audio circuit (ie audio on = relay on) and have that control the power supply to the amp. That way in the cranking position the amp...

    Statesman NYPD???

I think a big reason for a statesman would be so they can fit all them shields n stuff coz ive been in standard taxis with em and u have about 15cm leg room in the back (and yes sometimes cop cars do transport normal ppl in em, hell ive been in the bak once when i was reportin a thingo). Also...

    Statesman NYPD???

Dumber then you thought?? I think your missing something here. Come on what cop is gonna say 'oh we shouldnt have that because we dont need it' to a statesman. I mean do you serriously expect any cop is gonna complain about gettin to cruise round in one of them all day. And hey if its a new one...

    How to upgrade your computer.

Sorry to say this on a Commodore forum...

Good! If holden were stingy can u imagine all the things they'd stuff up or be slack on etc. Frankly a lot can go wrong in cars and I'd much prefer holden keep their workers happy so the cars come out as good as can be expected.

    VT Trip Computer

Oh and I'm going to add for those that might not understand what I/We are talking about. VT Trip Computer

Hrmmm if u cant program it im sure you can overide it. How about a relay that simulates both switches down when no power is supplied and run off an aux circuit. When you turn the car on the switches are in the off position (relay has power) but during crank the relay loses power and the switches...

Yeah i thought belt too. The old belt must have stretched a fair bit because the alternator easilly reached the end of the bracket so i figured it was loose and got a new one. With the new one the alternator is only a little bit past half way up the bracket so im stumped. The belt has maybee...
