2012 Sv6 lpg sports wagon towbar fitting

FYI this thread. I just fitted a new 1200kg bar to a MY12 DEDICATED LPG Sportswagon and inside the rail slots is a welded in tab to prevent a large capacity towbar being fitted to the DEDICATED FACTORY LPG sportswagon. As it was we had to cut slots in the new towbar to get it to fit. Not an...

Don't buy a cheap Chinese oxygen sensor

Got the replacement yesterday & fitted it today. Not working. I think the it must be the pins are not making contact in the connector so I'll get a connector from the wreckers & try that. Anyone got any others suggestions or seen this before?

VN Level 1 cluster swapped to VP Level 2

The VN/VP clusters are almost identical but a couple of pin outs are different. I did a vn cluster into a vp & from memory the left indicator dash light didn't work until I changed the pin over. Etc etc. From memory I think there were 3 pins different. Also check the three leg voltage...

Don't buy a cheap Chinese oxygen sensor

I took the chinese one out today & put the old delco back in. It is showing an output & variation so it's working. The chinese one definitly not working. So not my wiring loom. Looking at the cheap one, the pins are much thinner. Maybe they're not making a good connection. The seller is...

Don't buy a cheap Chinese oxygen sensor

or anything effin chinese. I bought a $35.00 2 wire O2 sensor off Ebay & installed it yesterday. My old sensor (a Bosch I think) faulted the dash light a few weeks ago for a few minutes then the light went out. But, my fuel economy went thru the roof so being broke & a cheepskate I...

This ####ing car is still going! I swear I'm the last bastard standing in the VN/VP forum. Since I last posted in this thread the old bitch has had: Yet another crappy chinese radiator, 3rd one. Fuel sys overhaul, pump, regulator, all new hoses to the tank, return hose in the tank. Air con...

    vn commodore help

This is almost certainly a cracked crank angle sensor. Car stops when warmed up & won't start. 1/2hr later car starts & runs fine. Next time it happens pour cold water over the sensor & try starting. If it starts the sensor needs replacing. What happens is the plastic surround warps from heat...

    Better fuel economy and power.

I did all the fuel tank lines when I changed the pump & return hose(in the tank). The biggest fuel consumption drain was the fuel pressure regulator leaking into the manifold. $20 part. Check for vacuum leaks. Tranny ok? Check torque converter locks up ~95km/h etc. Oil change & filter improves...

    Carbon Canister

Is the car hard to start after sitting overnight? If so it's the fuel pressure regulator leaking into the manifold. It can leak a lot of fuel over a few hours as the pressure drops off. Run the engine to get the pressure up then switch off & disconnect the small vacuum hose on the regulator. It...

Vn stalls whilst cruising and splutters whilst accelerating.

Crank angle sensor. Runs cold but when it warms up stalls? This is because of expansion in the plastic around it. Next time it happens pour cold water on the sensor. If it starts & runs, it's the sensor.

    Sudden aircon failure

If the switch at the back is showing some ohms then that indicates theres some pressure in the system. If both are showing 0 ohms means they're not activated because of no pressure. The accumulator switch is open circuit. I'll try bypassing it to see if it's the problem.
  19. V

    Sudden aircon failure

The (low?)pressure switch on the accumulator is showing 0 ohms. The one behind it on the other line is showing 0.6 ohms. The low pressure switch should show some impedance right?

    Sudden aircon failure

It was freezing cold a few days ago. That indicates plenty of gas. There are no signs of leaks (oil around the connectors). If it lost gas it would have been sudden & there would be signs of it. Faulty low or high pressure switch then?

    Sudden aircon failure

Thanks for the replies guys. Fan still blows air. All the heater controls seem ok. Ie it's not stuck on heat pr anything like that. Fuse 9 under the dash ok. Swapped the ac relay under the bonnet for horn relay (they are the same) that didn't fix it. Forget the engine revs spiel above. That was...

    Sudden aircon failure

My aircon has suddenly failed to make cold air. Normally it gives freezing air and was working a few days ago. Today zilch. If this is any help, the engine revs are changing every few seconds when idling. Electrical fault somewhere?

Vacuum hiss after engine switch off

More checks today. Heater/ac all working ok so I don't think it's that line. Changed the short line from intake to purge valve. Not it. Fuel lines to the fuel reg look ok. Could it be the brake booster line? Seems very sloppy fit. & has those crappy hose clips.

    Vp sensor locations

    VP Problem in the heat

Maybe crank angle sensor? Eg will start when engine cold, runs till it warms up then stalls & won't restart. When it happens, pour some cold water over the sensor ( front of engine rh side next to crank pulley). If that works then the sensor is cracked & needs replacing.

Vacuum hiss after engine switch off

Hi all, I've known of a vacuum leak for a while. Tracking it down has been the problem. Today after reversing out to check the radiator & switching off I can hear a hiss coming from the top rear of the engine. The hiss stops when the fuel pump shuts down about a minute after ignition...

Question re bypass coolant hose on VP Commodore

I did this job yesterday. If the plastic bits end up inside the manifold just flush it out with water by putting a garden hose in the radiator cap. It will get flushed to the front where you can hook it out with yer piece of wire.
