    aisin d173 behind 304? (vz v6 6 speed box)

Done a Google search but found nothing. I've just bought a written off vz v6 crewman with a 6 speed manual to part out. According to Wikipedia they'll handle 467nm. I'm wondering if it's worth while or even possible to put it behind my 304 in an mq patrol.

    304 xr6 zf 6speed auto behind 304 in gq patrol>possible?

I just bought a wrecked bf xr6 to part out and make a bit of extra cash, it's got the zf 6speed auto in it. I'm putting my 304 into a gq patrol. Would it be possible to put the 6speed auto behind it?

304 flat spot, changed ignition and injectors now what?

Thanks ari. Got the new injectors in. It does stall more than it use to but its manual and I'm already use to it and can usually clutch it before I have to stop. It idles fine but the important thing is that it has got more fast. I'll just put up with it as is for a few months until I can get a...

304 flat spot, changed ignition and injectors now what?

Ari666, about the wideband gauge, my o2 sensor is on the left extractor, will that give an inaccurate reading only coming from half the cylinders? And once I've got it how do I log the results? Do I still need more equipment, some way of hooking it up to a laptop? And will it achieve the same...

304 flat spot, changed ignition and injectors now what?

Hmm, you said a lot, I was a bit like that bloke who lost the top of his head lol. How you put it just now makes it much easier to understand. I thought I had to buy a wide band gauge, buy a chip then completely understand how it works before I can continue. As far as conking out at the lights...

I got a slightly bigger set of injectors, there 220cc 22lb. I'll put them in and see how it goes on the dyno.

304 flat spot, changed ignition and injectors now what?

Just out of curiosity, what would happen if I put bigger injectors in it? It's running standards how would it go if I put a set of blue tops in it? Ari666 suggested getting a ALDL Cable and logging 1st 2nd and given a deserted straight road 3rd gear. Would that be enough to get the tune a bit...

How many times can you safely wipe and rewrite a memcal? Don't want to kill a hsv memcal.

304 flat spot, changed ignition and injectors now what?

Delcowizzid, the1 is going to readjust the tune in the memcal for me. He suggested " Defiantly got some spark pulled just after 4000rpm, so put a bit more fuel in 2-3% there and then about 8% across the board. The spark should be ok once the fuel is increased. " does that sound right to you?

Hypatec flat tops, 284 cam .471 lift, roller rockers, head and manifold work 70mm throttle body. I did have the timing set at 11btdc but the mechanic readjusted it, don't know what to though.

exhaust, a very leaky genie 4/2/1.....4 into 2x2" into 1x3". God knows what is with the stagger, it coincides with the big puff of black smoke during the run :-/

The bloke who did the dyno run came highly recommended, easily the pick of the few blokes who do it in town(based on suggestions from every tom dick and Harry both yokels and half the mechanics in town)

304 flat spot, changed ignition and injectors now what?

Happy days all round, got her back from the mechanic yesterday. He didn't do the leak down test instead he cleared eleventyseven fault codes, readjusted the timing and changed the map sensor(only charged me $50 so very happy, shout out to mick at triple m performance in Tamworth) . It ran a lot...

All good mate, if it helps you hoorah, in the mean time I'm considering having a carbeque. Changed the reg and it definitely improved but it's still there. Hopefully mick at triple m performance can make heads and tails of it when I Drop it in on Friday.

Pump and filter are brand new. The old pump was really noisey so I replaced it anyway.

304 flat spot, changed ignition and injectors now what?

A new development, couple times today, put the foot down and it completely died, had to let it cruise in angel gear, let it drop back to idle then it was fine again. Do wait until the mechanic does a few tests next week or should I just replace the fuel reg now? Only thing I haven't changed.

304 flat spot, changed ignition and injectors now what?

One of them is really noisey on cold startup, nocks like a motherf@#ker for 10-15 seconds, do I just put up with it? Got it booked in at a mechanics next week, getting the fuel/vacume pressure checked and a leak down test.

304 flat spot, changed ignition and injectors now what?

Re-adjusted the rockers today, they were all a bit on the loose side, made a big improvement. If one or two of the lifters aren't holding enough pressure, will that cause my dramas? Do I really need antipump lifters with a .471lift cam lt1 springs and street terra rollers?

help selecting leak down test set for 304.

Just wondering what type/size/pressure rating to buy. There's a cheap one on eBay that ranges from 0-100 psi, is that going to do the job?

304 flat spot, changed ignition and injectors now what?

I have noticed the fuel inst on the cluster cycling up to 99 then back to zero occasionally. Would a dead o2 censor cause a flat spot? I didn't change it because it's less than 6months old.

304 flat spot, changed ignition and injectors now what?

No, flat spots still there, changed the tps and it seems a little more responsive. Only 3 things left to check, vacume, fuel pressure regulater and leak down test.

304 flat spot, changed ignition and injectors now what?

Gasket replaced and picked up a set of street terra adjustable rollers new In box for $430. So got it all back together and the flat spot has been replaced by the loss of a cylinder, it's only running on 7 cylinders now.

304 flat spot, changed ignition and injectors now what?

Yep that's how I measured it, metal on metal and used a 0.030 feeler gauge. I was using a cork gasket there. I didn't think the inlet gasket was very squished. Fingers crossed that was the problem.

Gasket looked ok. Wasn't stuck to the heads much. The heads have been played with before, valves replaced, ported and the motor had a cam in it, I'll check tomorrow arvo with the manifold in place without any gaskets. I'll check the bottoms of the lifters aswell.
