Thanks Skylarking, I have already downloaded the manual and have a scan tool. I never thought to use the scan tool. I will use both options and report back.

Passenger side mirror no longer goes up and down

The passenger side mirror no longer goes up and down but goes in and out. Note if I put the car in reverse, the mirror also no longer goes down to show the kerb like it used to. Any ideas.

    Broken windscreen washer jet

I have found that part number for the VF windscreen washer nozzle. It is a Nice Products part number NWN7017. Unfortunately no suppliers including Nice Products have stock of this part at the moment but I will continue to obtain it.

    Broken windscreen washer jet

Thanks for all the responces but what I am after is the part number of the washer jet/nozzle. My research has found replacements for a VE but nothing for a VF and of course they are different. I am trying to avoid installing an generic jet from Ebay assuming that is feasible.

    Broken windscreen washer jet

Have already tried the local wrecker but living in the country town, most of the gear he had was for hilux's. so no help there. Is there a recommended wrecker in a capital that I should contact. Are the parts not available new from a stealer. ??

    Broken windscreen washer jet

The drivers side windscreen washer jet slowly became very feeble while the passenger side was ok. I thought it was blocked with junk and attempted to clean it with a fine needle. In doing so all I did was break the jet and it came apart from the bonnet. I cannot find the washer jet part no and...

    Calais V Grill replacement

The other day killed a large black crow and the front grill at high speed. Just wondering if it is hard to remove and install a replacement Grill and a recommended spare parts vendor to obtain either a new or second hand grill for a VF Calais V. I am located in the Southern Highlands of NSW. I...

    Recommended Spark Plugs

My Series 1 Calais V Sportwagon 3.6 V6 is up for its 240k service and thus will require replacement of the spark plugs. The vehicle mostly drives at 90% highway speeds 100-120km/h. So my question is recommended spark plugs. Thanks in advance.

    Touring Tyre Recommendations

Thank you to all who have provided comments and recommendations. I should have added budget up to $350 per tyre and I currently only need two tyres and another very important item I consider is if a tyre does not have a rim around the bottom edge of the wheel to protect the wheel somewhat I...

    Touring Tyre Recommendations

I am seeking recommendations on a touring tyre for my Calais V Series 1 Wagon. My normal drive is on country Sealed Class B/C roads at speeds 100-120km/h for 95% of the time. So my priority with the tyre is 1. quietness, 2. Wet weather performance, 3. Wear. I found that OEM Bridgestone Turanza...

    Check Right dipped beam lamp

As recommended in this thread, I have purchased the Narva 130 halogen globes. I did eventually install one globe to replace the faulty globe and what a bastard of a job. I did check with youtube and found that due to the size of the wheel I had to remove the wheel. Most of the yout tube posts...

    Check Right dipped beam lamp

    USB Key capacity - size/limitations

Thanks everyone for your comments, obviously the VF system using a USB key can handle are large volume of files and folders and will check the file format on my existing USB key. USB Key capacity - size/limitations

Just wondering what is the largest USB capacity that the VF system can read and accomodate. Currently are using a 128gb key but as I have ripped the music to WMA lossless to get quality, the number of songs is not as many as I would like. On a side note, I know the VE has a limitation of 1000...

    headlight unit replacement guide?

Black Reflectors in S1 were standard in Calais and Calais V models and silver were on sports models. Not sure about the evoke or S2 models. Some special models during S1 period also had black reflectors.

    Leaking Radiator

In hindsight I suspect the issue was just the o ring at the bottom connector at the radiator but at least I now have a new radiator and I know what to look out for on the VE ute and the MSE. The local mechanic who advised that it was the radiator that needed replacing, I suspect does not know...

USB not recognised when using the horn

On our VE Series 2 Omega Ute, if we press the horn while playing music using the USB key, a message will display on the screen saying USB not recognised and the music stops. This can only be resolved by turning off the car and starting it which sometimes takes several goes. Disconnecting the USB...

    Leaking Radiator

New radiator was installed and after inspection of the original radiator the issue was that the plastic part which attaches to the radiator hose at the bottom and which the bottom radiator hose connects to had failed and was leaking. I suspect that the radiator was OK and this plastic bit was...

    Leaking Radiator

The TQ has already been replaced so the fluid state is unable to be checked. It would seem that is unlikely that the overheating issue would cause the TQ to fail more likely poor design or quality of component as it was leaking and had a very fine crack in the weld.

    Leaking Radiator

A new radiator is being installed, for me just wondering if the failure was prematurely caused by vermin attack and if so I will contact my insurance company who is shannons. The recent torque converter failure I wonder if it was related to the lack of coolant and eventual severe overheating...

    Leaking Radiator

thanks everyone for your responces and comments. This is getting interesting. VF sv6 2016 Transmission Oil leakage

I had this issue and it was found to be torque converter weld had failed and this is causing the oil leak. Auto Transmission Leak

Yes torque converter was replaced and is no longer leaking. The AC lines were also replaced which a common issue with VF's and I also had these replaced under warranty. The repair was expensive as the torque converter was $960 alone, I could have got it on Ebay for $850 and the stealership...

    Auto Transmission Leak

Put the car for the auto transmission repair and the torque converter had a hair line crack which I saw with my own eyes. I was told that they have seen this before with VF. As I also have a VE Series 2 ute so I asked if they have seen this with VE models and was told no.

    Auto Transmission Leak

    Cabin filter

Having replaced the cabin filter in a VF series 1 and 2, it is a similar procedure but much more difficult in the Series 2. Auto Transmission Leak

I should have added that this car has a history of using oil and it does not leak onto the floor. I now have to put about 1-2 litres every 10-15k. I have just assumed that it was burning it via the exhaust.
