Pretty widespread problem if this thread is anything to go by. What I take from this as a possible purchaser is to avoid L76 and early L77 motors altogether? Does anyone have a pic of where to find the engine build date? I realise this does not necessarily relate to the build date on the ID...

I've seen a very early (2006) VE SS, extremely low K's (30,000) for a tempting price. Looks mint. Are there any problems with the early ones that were sorted in later builds? Would I be better off going for a later one?

Still looking around. I have noticed a few really nice SS-V Redlines come up, just out of budget but if I bide my time something will come up. Currently eyeing off a Yellow Ute. How much better are the Brembo brakes over the standard ones? Is there much in it or is it just a brand name thing...

No mods, looking for a good stockie and being a daily driver will stay that way. Haven't taken this any further, looks like purchase is going to be delayed. Will keep tuning in though.
