It will still turn over without spark. I would remove the spark plugs and try and rotate the motor, if you can't turn it over like that then the problem is the engine

If it's not turning over how did you figure it isn't getting spark. You will need it to turn over to get spark. Therefore I would be looking at the starter motor or power supply to the starter motor etc

haven't played with it for a week or so, but pretty sure as soon as its plugged in it'll bring up codes. same as my HpTuners when plugged in brings up a contact dealer message and I think the others as well.
