G'day Little coolant mix, slightly green! Flushed and renewed! Found heater tap leaking, have to fix that now! Bit gunky under cap not too bad! No milky residue! In oil or coolant! Throttle body or maf cleaner? And is this a job where I have to take off top of plenum chamber? Cheers

Hi all, 2002 VX wagon. 3.8 ltr. having problem with idle. When cold idles fine. When operating temp gets a bit lumpy. New plugs, leads and coils. Seems to be drinking coolant too. Could be separate issue. Oil not milky. Thoughts?

Why are you taking off the sump?

+1 for not doing the timing chains. Do the small things first. Tech 2 check. The. Depending from there; Oil, air and fuel filter. Plugs then coil pack (bit exey) then maybe have injectors cleaned.

+1 for new hub, shouldn't be too hard, after wheel and brakes are off its only 3 or 4 bolts, if I am correct, cannot anyone confirm?

If it is a ls1 it only has two O2 sensors pre cat.

I flush as a precaution. But I think the problem stems from changing from mineral oils to synthetic oils, some dont combine to well. IMO

Hi all, Finally fitted the diff mount today, much improved! Took a bit of persuading due old rubbers being worn. All up bout 40 mins. Now that pesky transfer case. Job for Monday!

+1 trans oil, I would take it to a transmission place and have the entire system flushed. They should service it and check it with a tech 2 or similar!

You are looking for any movement in the pins.

Check the pins at the top of the tailgate. Alsocheck the rear ssuspension rubbers.

Castor settings are responsible for returning the wheels to centre. I would replace the bushes etc. The knock or grind from left whe could also be a wheel bearing.
