My new Baby - SSV Z Sportwagon

Well had the big drive over on Friday night - interstate trips in a nice car are so much better and having the 6 litre was brilliant for overtaking the trucks! The drive was great, got a bit concerned about 200ks in when the dash beeped a couple times and a big X with service and consult dealer...

My new Baby - SSV Z Sportwagon

It's a pleasure to drive mate - very happy with it (Mind you for the last 10 years I've been driving either a 2000 Challenger or 94 v6 VR so the bar wasnt set that high!) Heading over to SA next Friday night. Driving though to yorketown for a few nights then back to Glenelg for a week so it...

Update time... I took your advice thanks and contacted NAAF... He was spot on with his suspicion that my drone was just when the AFM was kicking in!! So I've been driving it for the past few weeks in "manual mode" which has kept it out of AFM range! It's been great driving it that way and the...

My new Baby - SSV Z Sportwagon

At long last it's back! Monday of this week was 12 weeks since buying it. Friday this week will be 8 weeks since the accident.... It's fair to say I've missed it! Sounds awesome with the cat back (HM Headers 2.5" stainless catback) .. But there is a bit of drone :( - might need to seek...

My new Baby - SSV Z Sportwagon

That's why I'm toying with it.... It's not ideal at the moment financially but possible! The only reason I'm doing any exhaust changes is to make it sound like a v8 - any added performance is just a bonus! - so if it sounds ok with just the cat back I'll save my dollars for now! Then again...

My new Baby - SSV Z Sportwagon

Getting excited.... Should have it back by the end of the week! Will have the new HM Headers 2.5 catback system fitted, will be getting a VCM OTR fitted a week or so later when the 2000k service and tune is done... Contemplating fitting some HM Headers 4 into 1 headers and hi flow cats at the...

Will do mate.. I've had a few contacts chase it up for me and confirm the back order... There was a dealer in WA and one in QLD with stock but they won't give em up.... I actually think its piss poor - 12 month old car and a tailgate that is the same as the VF... Shouldn't have been a stock...

I was semi hopeful of them writing it off but it's insured for $52k (with the gas) and the write off point is 75%.... I have full faith in the shop it's at - I've been in the auto industry 20years and worked with them a lot in my last role - the only thing is I'll always know...

My new Baby - SSV Z Sportwagon

Slowly getting there... The panel shop has it all straightened and repaired but is now just waiting for a tailgate which is in back order with Holden.. Should allegedly be delivered early next week... They have used a tailgate from another VE to do what they can in the meantime.. Ended up...

My new Baby - SSV Z Sportwagon

As much as I hate to say it mate I'm hoping that will be the case.... Thankfully I insured it for what it's worth not what I paid and then up'd it again when I did the conversion.... I know I won't be able to find another privately owned spotless one with less than 10k on the clock at the price...

Gas tank is 80 litres - 65 usable. First tank of gas I got 23L /100... With a very heavy right foot! As a comparison, My first tank of petrol I got 21l/100... Only on my 2nd tank of gas now and again have been giving it a hiding... Next fill I'll drive a bit more sensibly and see what it...

Had a minor issue where I couldn't put any gas in it but all fixed under warranty with no issue... The price going up does suck but its still 50+cents a litre cheaper! Looking forward to doing a trip to Adelaide and then onto Yorktown in march and seeing what it returns on the open road!

    Holden closing down Factory 2016 - 2018

Agreed that the country is going to Hurt and lots of jobs will be lost - that sucks and I really feel for those that will be effected, either directly or indirectly. I do feel though that its inaccurate to say that it's all because Abbott and Hockey don't want to spend 100 million or so for a...

Forgot to attach this - in case anyone's interested! Ill consider the above to be the staring point! Now I need to convince the minister for finance that it needs an OTR, cat back and tune! (Mind you, at this point I don't really think it needs more power but it definitely needs more sound...

    Scrap it, whats it worth?

I sold my old VR 3 weeks ago. Dent in the boot lid, split in the rear bumper, roof lining stapled in place, bald tyres, no rego, leaking power steering, rattly engine, 300,000+ k's, leaking out of day gas tank, fitted with a tow bar. Wreckers offered me $300 if I could drive it in - pick a...

Probably a silly question, but is the engine cover just clipped in place or do you have to undo something to lift it off - curious to see what lies beneath!

Lol - thy gave me an inflation kit (bottle of slime and a little compressor!) - that should be fine around town and when we go on interstate trips or similar ill just put the spare in the back... Will investigate run flats when the time comes but I'm scared to look at their prices!!

Picked it up today after having the Liquid Injection fitted. Took a day longer than expected - all good though, i'd rather it all done right than rushed to meet a deadline and they had me in a pretty much brand new X Trail at no cost to me! (Made the drive home in the wagon today even more...

thanks for the response! so whats the difference between the red and green lines in each set? also, isnt that graph showing almost 600 torque at 317kw? (im curious cos pir4te mentioned 310 torque... or would his reference be when doing approx 110k/h?) again, sorry if these are really dumb...

heres my new (to me) baby 11/2012 SSV Z Auto stock at the moment - going in tomorrow for a JTG Liquid Gas Injection conversion no intentions to do any major mods but definatly want to put a beefier sounding exhaust on it - I love the sound when under hard acceleration but it lacks that...
