Gearbox oil is pink, looks fairly new. Up to the right level on the dipstick. RPM has no impact, and the engine runs quite roughly until the light goes out. sometimes it turns off after 10 seconds sometimes a bit more.

Is there a vacuum advance canister on the dizzy? If not, i suspect the car might still be EST timed. If you check in the passenger bay, where your left foot would go there is a kick panel - pull the kick panel and there should be an EST computer. is that still there?

I use a GPS for my speedo all the time as my speedo reports too low a speed and I keep getting tickets. It's funny, the lights for the defroster and the electric antenna light up really brightly but not the speedo or tach at all, and a very weak light under the fuel/oil/temp/volt gauges.
