    VE commy gas

"Serviced" is a very broad term. If there is a problem it could be anything from the LPG tank at the rear to the injectors, converter and electronics up the front. Best take it to an authorised LPG mechanic and get it checked out.

Replace Front Washer Motor - VE Series 2 Sportswagon

You may find that the actual pump motor is OK and that the little outlet pipe is gummed up from using Bars Bugs or similar windscreen washer additive.

    Serious Electrical Problem

Glad I was able to be of assistance. I know Brad is not the cheapest but, I have never had any problems with his work.

    Serious Electrical Problem

Brad, from A&B Auto Electrical in Brookvale (0299394626), is very good with these issues.

    Fault codes 6L80E

Has your tuner got access to the online GM software to reprogram the TCM? Without it, the transmission will never run properly.

    Tiptronic not engaging

Could be a faulty range selector switch. Not that expensive but, a job for a transmission specialist.

    Shift lag 1st to 2nd

I recently had a similar problem with the 1-2 shift. Even though my vehicle is a WM it has the 6L80 transmission. Turned out one of the solenoids was failing. Unfortunately, the whole transmission control module had to be replaced as all the solenoids are attached to the module and can't be...

    VE LPG beeping

I have the manual for the Sequent LPG system, as installed by Holden. The file is a 3Mb and too large to upload here. If you like to DM me at [email protected] I can try and send it to you.

How to repair my Triptronic shifter

Sounds like the range selector switch has failed. Job for transmission specialist. Not usually hugely expensive.

    Rebuilding L98

Definitely replace the valve lifters and oil pump. The latter should be replaced with a high capacity Mellings or similar. Also the oil pump pickup O ring. Others may have other suggestions depending on the condition of the engine.

High temperature Holden Commodore 2011 V8

I had a similar problem some time back. Turned out to be the thermostat not opening properly. Thankfully an easy fix on the L98 not so easy on the sixes.

    Car won’t start

Appears to be another item that requires the original GM replacement part. Same applies to radiator caps, alternators and starters and to a lesser extent wheel hubs and tailshaft couplings. All this is from first hand experience over the last 15 years of Holden ownership.

WM Caprice Series 1 Head Unit Removal

Could anyone help me with the procedure for removing the head unit from a series 1 Caprice? All the threads and workshop manual that I have come across refer to the VE Commodore but, the Caprice is quite different in regard to the layout of the A/C controls and hazard switch.

    VE R8 6.2 Clubsport Issue

Could be the water pump not circulating coolant. How is the condition of the water pump? Other possibility is a blown head gasket and the bubbling in the radiator is from exhaust gas.

    Random clock time

Did you accidentally hit the daylight savings on/off button?

    WM 6lt Stato mayhem

The issues all point to the battery condition. Have it load tested at a battery supplier or auto parts store. Years ago I had the same problem. Fitted a high capacity battery (810CCA) and absolutely no problems since. The WM's (more so than the VE's) suck a lot of power due to all the standard...

    Drive Gears Missing ?

Possibly the range selector switch has failed. Job for an auto transmission specialist.

Caprice WM. Dual fuel Plugs coils, oils

My WM Caprice with the L98 is dual fuel. I have only ever used the standard plugs and leads. I have also always used 5W-30 fully synthetic oil of various brands (depends what's on special). Vehicle now has done just under 600,000 ks. If your plugs are really old, it might be an idea to spray...

    Changing auto shifter unit

I was told by the transmission specialist that the component needing replacing was inside the transmission. Apart from that, I know they didn't replace the actual selector.

    Changing auto shifter unit

Sounds like the range selector switch is buggered. They cost about $260.00. I had mine replaced recently by transmission specialist who charged for 2 hours labour.

    V8 L77 Radiator Fan Motor/s

Replacement fan motors are readily available and easy to replace. On V8's, the left and right fan blades are different but, the motors are the same.

Have it checked and re-gassed, if necessary, by a licensed air con technician.

Any cheap but strong UV dye for slow coolant leak test?

I notice the vehicle is LPG fueled. It would also be wise to check the gas converter (and associated hoses) for coolant leaks as these sometimes get corroded.

    Ve Ss lifters

I had a second hand replacement L98 supplied and fitted a couple of years ago after the original engine expired after 512,000 km. The second engine cost $6,000 installed and had 70,000 on it. It has now done 110,000 and required the top end overhaul. Just goes to show that a replacement engine...
  26. pnlimo

    Ve Ss lifters

I had a similar noise. Turned out to be the valve lifters on two cylinders literally scraping on the camshaft lobes, presumably due to lack of lubrication or more likely, faulty manufacture. This was despite regular servicing and oil & filter changes every 7,500 km with fully synthetic 5W-30...

    Thermostat cost

I have further checked the price for a genuine Holden thermostat. The part number is 89018168 and for your 2013 model SSV the price is $95.70 which includes the inlet pipe (thermostat housing) and seal.
  28. pnlimo

    Thermostat cost

I have always found the genuine Holden parts for things like thermostats and sensors much better than cheaper after market brands. I would check the price that you have been given by Holden. The current price for a genuine Holden thermostat for a 6.0L V8 is $45.00. I think they may have quoted...

    Ve lumina electrical issue

Auto transmission inhibitor switch? Maybe try jiggling the selector.

New battery and alternator = no luck

Where are you taking the voltage measurement from? Mine is read direct from the OBD and the fluctuations are quite noticeable depending on electrical load and how long the vehicle has been standing. I have been informed by an auto electrician that this is normal.
  31. pnlimo

New battery and alternator = no luck

Is the new alternator a genuine GM one for the Caprice? The correct alternator charging is controlled by the BCM. Some aftermarket ones are not designed to do this. The output of my Caprice's alternator varies between 13.2 and 15.1V depending on electrical load. Also, the higher voltage output...

    Dedicated LPG Injector Replacement

Unfortunately, most repairs to LPG systems can only be carried out by licensed gas mechanics. While the process of changing the injectors is straightforward, it would probably be difficult to get replacements if you're not a licensed LPG mechanic. Maybe different regulations in different states...

    Wm caprice phone connection

In your phone's Bluetooth settings is "Vehicle BT" coming up in the list of connections? If it is, pressing on it should pair your phone to the vehicle. The message "Voice In" should be displayed for a few seconds on the vehicle screen.

    VE HVAC System Info

Maybe I read the "My edit" note wrong but, my Caprice definitely has the under seat ducts that distribute warm air in winter. Apologies, I now realise that the fascia pictured is not from a Statesman or Caprice hence my confusion.
  37. pnlimo

    Radiator Coolant Levels

Did you get a genuine Holden radiator cap? Often aftermarket ones are a bit dodgy.

Removing Head Unit in 07 Series 1 Caprice

Thanks again. I was just a bit concerned at the amount of force required to pull off the fascia. Didn't want to break something.
