The noise is normally a clunk or couple it little clunks. Bit clicky after bigger clunks sometimes. Haha sounds stupid but that's the best way to describe it!

Definitely front end, feels like low front end.... Happens as often when going straight as it does around corners. Low speed typically....
If it's a bush which bush do you think it might be? Did the control arms etc a few months back but should all be nice and tight...

I presume its hard to diagnose with he boot still on, is the seal easy...
Damn... That's sounds a bit tricky... So it's the rack that's faulty really, and the boots just letting the oil through??
Just want a simple fix so maybe swap out the boots... New rack could be expensive a.

I've got an old steering rack boot that seems to be leaking, any tips on replacing it?
I had the wheel alignment done a couple of weeks ago and really don't want to take it in again, any ways to replace it without needing the alignment again?

Gave the boot a good squeeZe but nothing came out either end. Still looks a little damp so perhaps the boot is cracked somewhere ?
Rockers are all good, bone dry. Little oil at the back of the engine which may be the rear main seal?... But that's been there for ages.

Radius rod worth doing also do you think? And how bout the tie rod for the steering rack? They likely to fail also??

I desperately need to replace my bushes on the front end of my vt commodore. It's a 2000 v6 series 2 I think.
I've been quoted a couple of fairly expensive quotes and am keen to do the job myself.
The things my mechanic has mentioned that I need are:
- front lower control...
So I checked the oil in the power steering... still has a red tone to it. Also checked the engine oil... it's due for a change so is nice and dark. The oil that's leaking on the ground is a light brown colour. It also seems like there is some oil dripping from the chasis, as well as the boot...
Just searched rear main seal, looks like it would be too low to be dropping onto the steering atm boot?? I have a photo of the oil on the boot but not sure how to upload....

By rack what did you mean exactly?
It's not the rocker covers as did them recently and no leaks visible.
I will check the power steering fluid tonight, hopefully that's what it will be....

Been trying to track down an oil leak on my vt. Seems to be a browny engine oil fluid dripping somehow onto the left hand side steering arm boot.
I tried tracing the source but there doesn't seem to be any clues!
Perhaps hydraulic fluid? But colour makes me think twice...

Got a pain in the bum heater fan squeak which is driving me nuts.
I've had it out and tried to blow the carbon out of the motor, thought that would have solved it... But sadly not.
I didn't fully take the motor apart, just the rear cover, I suspect it's the bearings at the...

Is an oiled pod a good idea!? A mates given me one but I'm having second thoughts after reading reviews.

Accent, good point... was scared that it would just overwrite/ignore any ongoing problems.. but if that's the case I might try that trick tomorrow. so the best way is battery terminal and foot on break for a few mins?
