    [VIC] Roadworthy Cert

Hi guys, Looking I sell my VT, had her for 5 years; been a great car. While I'm confident most items are all ok for roadworthy, I don't want to get ripped off when heading for the cert. ANY ROADWORTHY CERT LOCATIONS/RECOMMENDATIONS? Looking for someone fair and not too at strict. I know...

VT knock / click from engine/steering

Calling all commodore gods. Keen to know your opinions, my VT has a knocking/clicking noise, primarily when I take off or turn a corner at lower speeds. It feels like a steering rack issue perhaps but then I read up about engine mounts.... The cars done 290,000 and has been well looked...

    Vt faulty wiperblade

Hi guys, So i stupidly caught my driver side wiperblade while cleaning my car at the dyi car wash. Seemed to bend it back a little. I rotated it back into position and it seems to work fine most of the time, but every now and again the blade/wiper rotates to far and goes off the...

VT commodore steering rack boot - oil leak

Damn... That's sounds a bit tricky... So it's the rack that's faulty really, and the boots just letting the oil through?? Just want a simple fix so maybe swap out the boots... New rack could be expensive a.

VT commodore steering rack boot - oil leak

Thanks for the quick reply mate, so the boot will more or less just seal the oil in, but won't really fix the leak? Is there much work in replacing the seal?

VT commodore steering rack boot - oil leak

Hey guys, I've got an old steering rack boot that seems to be leaking, any tips on replacing it? I had the wheel alignment done a couple of weeks ago and really don't want to take it in again, any ways to replace it without needing the alignment again? .... Should it even be...

Oil leak - dropping onto steering boot

Gave the boot a good squeeZe but nothing came out either end. Still looks a little damp so perhaps the boot is cracked somewhere ? Rockers are all good, bone dry. Little oil at the back of the engine which may be the rear main seal?... But that's been there for ages. Still have some...

VT Front end bushes - how to guide???

Thanks for the replies guys. Seems like an achievable task. I imagine I'll have to take the brake rotor and caliber off to get the control arm free? Radius rod worth doing also do you think? And how bout the tie rod for the steering rack? They likely to fail also?? What would I do without...

So I checked the oil in the power steering... still has a red tone to it. Also checked the engine oil... it's due for a change so is nice and dark. The oil that's leaking on the ground is a light brown colour. It also seems like there is some oil dripping from the chasis, as well as the boot...

Oil leak - dropping onto steering boot

Hi all, Been trying to track down an oil leak on my vt. Seems to be a browny engine oil fluid dripping somehow onto the left hand side steering arm boot. I tried tracing the source but there doesn't seem to be any clues! Perhaps hydraulic fluid? But colour makes me think twice...

VT heater fan squeak - how to refurb?

Hi all, Got a pain in the bum heater fan squeak which is driving me nuts. I've had it out and tried to blow the carbon out of the motor, thought that would have solved it... But sadly not. I didn't fully take the motor apart, just the rear cover, I suspect it's the bearings at the...
