rubber ring?? guess i missed that then. im talking about the gasket which goes between the housing and the block.

when replacing the thermostat and the gasket, which goes first the gasket then the thermosat? or thermostat then the gasket? cheers guys

Just over 3/4, fan kicks in just after half way. just running idle aprox 2-4 mins

didnt touch the thermostat, just took the thermostat housing off and replaced the gasket, i changed both the top and bottom radiator hoses.

no i didnt touch that just the housing and replaced the gasket.

yer I have done that, still running hot.

I just replaced both coolant hoses and the gasket for the thermostat and now the engine is running hot after about 2 mins of idle, flushed and bleed the system and new coolant. could it be the thermostat? if it is how can i test it? it was running fine prior to the flush and new hoses. cheers...

well i took out the radiator, air box, a/c condenser, power steering, charcoal filter. then put it all back now its making that noise. 30kw haha for sure dude.

i took the filter out and it still does this, filter was just cleaned last weekend too.

My air box in the vs has started to make a really loud sucking noise, and i can hear it over the engine anyone know whats wrong with it??

i could only put in about 7lts of coolant but shouldnt it be able to hold 12lts? didnt spil anything apart from when i filled it from the top hose and some coolant went out the thermostat.

I can smell it, im sure its steam. how do you bleed the system? im not 100% sure if i did it right.

I bought a new radiator fitted it today, put coolant in it and now steam is coming from radiator this is after it was on ilde for 2 minutes, what have i done wrong??

Just wondering how to mount a new air conditioning condenser? im just not sure how to fit the top LHS and RHS, does the air conditioning condenser go directly on the chasis mount or before it?? and what bolts will i need to fit it? thanks guys.

harry i have a vs with an ls2 v8 engine, compare that to my vl and it feels like i could push it faster, but the advanced driving course couldnt hurt. Also the vl has LPG will that be an issue with changing the head to an rb25? or should i get rid of the gas?

All fixed now the dash lights was the cause auto electric fixed it up.
