    Vs V8 rough Running

Well if I had to guess I would say change the ecu temp sensor next ( the two pin one front of manifold) as it could be running rich when warmed if that's not working. Could also be the O2 sensors or ...... so yeah half a dozen things really, sorry. However a service manual has trouble shooting...

    vs v8 auto trans problem

If I had to try real hard to pick it, it maybe lost slightly in the bottom end but gained slightly in the top, revs a little cleaner with the standard computer back in. Trans is nice and smooth now. Yep the chip was junk. The idle is not quite as smooth as it was, but it does have vt injectors...

    vs v8 auto trans problem

EYY mate I can't thank you enuf, you have saved me many $ I recon, would have been the last place I would have looked. Yes folks the car had a powerchip in it. Some poor bastard got ripped big time with this one for sure. Fitted a spare ecu I had here and it runs great and the trans changes...

    Vs V8 rough Running

Buy new plugs. Take out the old plugs and arange them on a table, bench in the order they come out of the engine. Like in 2 rows of four front to back exactly like they come out. Then put the new plugs in. If that doesnt fix the problem, post up a decent pick of the plugs you pulled out, that...

    vs v8 auto trans problem

Thanks for the hint eyy. Sounds like we had the same symptoms for sure. Never considered that one. I don't know the history of the car, but it has green plastic body injectors on it, so anything is possible. I have a spare ecu here, I will have a look at that on the weekend and see how we go.

    vs v8 auto trans problem

Hey guy's Recently bought a v8 auto and have been tidying some stuff up on it. Among other stuff it had a trans service which I guess was just filter and fluid. Fluid is clean and at the right level. Speedo says just under 200K but who knows these days. Anyhow, the trans seems to work ok with...

Check the fuel again, are you sure its not just the fuel pump dying slowly?

    VS S3 5L acceleration issues

You say its worse at operating temp, have you checked the ECU temp sensor, if thats cactus it will be running too rich, pull the plugs and check them should give an indication if lean or rich.

    Can I put a "95" motor in a "92"??

So a 95 is an ecotec and 92 a buick? Asuming you are talking V6, really just change cars, there is too much difference in the wireing and that makes it a pain in the you know what, as legaly at least you would need to use the donor car's ecu, wireing and any other emissions gear. Consider also...

    Auto or manual

If you do lots of country and hills driving then yeah do it, if you are mainly in suburban traffic and roundabouts, IMO its just a pain in the arse, for bugger all gain, but its all personal opinion. Make sure you have the proper manual electrics sorted, because a converted auto just aint right...

    Code 47, now 46.

Yeah I had cas problem error codes and same thing, fixed it but car still broken. Changed the coilpack/dfi assembly with a known good one and problem solved. Now thats the first thing I say to check because its way easier.

    vr calais remote issue

Are you sure the key actually fits the lock? if so use some crc or wd40 on it. Does your key fit the boot? if so open it and check the ski port in the back seat, if its not latched properly you can open it and get in the car. Did you try simply getting a new battery put in the remote and then...

    Questions about a VR Wagon

Statesman dash is pretty do-able but I would think twice on the climate control. The pain of installing what can be a quite troublesome system really isnt worth it in my opinion. The analog system works fine and is easier to use, as long as you get it all working as it should. I also think that...

fitting a vs v8 ecu into a vr belina v8

BPMB ? could be me not reading it properly most likely. Yeah its mainly second that does it. It changes hard into 3rd but its not stupid hard like 2nd. Maybe its just it hasnt been done properly, it does pretty much what you are discribing, looks like I will have to get the pro's to sort it by...

fitting a vs v8 ecu into a vr belina v8

Thanks for the reply mate, yes the vr chip has BPMP 9222 on the memcal but has BLCC on the outside of the ecu so that leads me to believe that someone has changed the chip. Also the power button does not seem to make any difference. Yes it apparently has a shift kit and corvette servo's, but...

fitting a vs v8 ecu into a vr belina v8

Hey, so I have a vs v8 auto ecu and when I plug it into my vr v8 belina the security light stays flashing and it wont even try and start, dash lights are on. It started fine with the vr ecu in there. I'm just trying to test if the vr has a modded chip as the trans shift is too hard and the...

    Adjust Headlights

Um the 2 bolts at the top that go into the radiator/ bonnet latch support panel are to hold the headlight unit on the car. The adjustment does not use those bolts . Look at the back of the headlight unit and you will see two small half circle "units" screwed to the plastic back section looking...

Vs ecotec, losing water and oil but not visibly leaking

Seems like the classic case of the lower intake gaskets gone. If there is water dissapearing and oil getting higher it is at least that. If you have around 200K on the clock or over and no record of the LIM gaskets being replaced, well they would be due. So how many times has it overheated...

    hydrolock from leaking gasket?

Do you park where you would be able to see leaks? such as on concrete, if not try a large sheet of cardboard or similar to make sure it's not just a leak. More than a litre a week is quite a lot. You would see a lot of moisture out of the exhaust on start up and a few revs, is there any...

    Bubbles bubbles

White sludge inside the oil cap will be LIM gaskets at the very least. Wait till you see how much hides under the rocker covers. You do not necesseraly get gunk on the radiator cap, although it is also quite common . Don't leave them too long, if they let go engine dammage is a real possibility...

Car started to over heat ??? very strange

Sounds like the fans aren't working. I take it you have already checked the coolant level, and asumeing your cooling system gets the proper maintanence.

Which polish can I use on clear coat?

You could try doing a small area/panel first, then leave for a week and see if you are happy, at least you won't ruin the whole paint job if turns bad. Oh the meguires do a quick wax that is brilliant, personaly wouldn't waste my energy with that other stuff you bought, but hey, it mite turn...

    Struts - VT Exec SII

Cheapies and last? Do yourself a favour and go with KYB or Munroe brands. Ebay has plenty. You will need to buy the top rubbers and bearing kits. Don't get the short travel type unless you have lowered springs fitted, if you have lowered then get the short travel like munroe gt sport, they...

    Vt commodore wheel nuts

Yes you need mag nuts. More than once I have had a car were the previous owner has used steel wheel nuts with mags, they allow the bottom part of the nut's edge to dammage the alloy which is never good, and as stated don't tighten properly. The factory mags with the metal inserts in the stud...

    Oil additives in Ls1?

Not trying to have a go or even tell you you're wrong, but what is a "heavy flush" that you do for 3 hours? Arn't you concerned that you would be stripping the good stuff off the bearings as well as cleaning the other stuff? I just havn't heard of anyone going to that extent with a flush, how...

    Oil additives in Ls1?

Send Penrite an email, I guarantee they will reply with, please don't put aditives in our oil, we put plenty in already! A bit of searching will tell you that not all aditives are compatible with each other, some even compete with each other, meaning you are worse off. If you are worried about...

    vt rear wheel stud length

Yeah because the factory rear studs are only long enuf for factory wheels and nuts, I threw my chasers on for now till I get the studs. The 60mm ebay studs will work fine with the aftermarket wheels and nuts I have. Standard studs are only 40mm long. The aftermarket nuts are fine with the...

signs of l67 supercharger belt slipping

I had the wrong belt on mine when I got it, and it would slip a little, certanly didn't shudder? just a little down on power, and squeeky belt when cold. When you say higher revs, and then 80-100 km? I asume thats with you foot down under hard acceleration? as cruzing at 90km/hr I only sitting...

    Temp sensor

Sorry but there are many, many posts that sugest that on a VS it is perfectly normal for the fan to kick in around 3/4 on the gauge. Also the 4 VS commies my household have had, including the current one with new cooling system and sensors have all kicked in around that mark. The main thing...

    Rear Tyre Wear

Sorry but I didn't say the toe link fixed the camber problem, it "helps" with the tyre wear problem by correcting the toe. Doesn't matter can't fit to vs anyway. Back to stock height and new shocks will help a lot on the VS.

VX stuttering and idling rough, advice?

Yeah, if you suspect a valve problem, could well be, then a compression test is the absolute cheapest option to diagnose it. Or you could ring the previous owner and see if he knows, after all, why fit another engine then sell it? Maybe he knows :)

commodore boiling over, not showing on temp gauge

Um, how long is it idleing before this happens? How old is the engine? does the gauge show it's hot? Does the cooling fan work? Cuz dumping all the coolant and steam out the overflow bottle is pretty servere. Did any one say compression test before throwing parts at it?

    The Diff is growling?

I'm sorry but I disagree. Why bother wasteing good money putting new oil in a ####ed diff? Oh we have a censor? damn .There is just no point, sorry. And as for that Nulon additive, well don't get me started on that parts store money maker. I agree, there is no substitute for quality diff oil...

    Temp sensor

Normaly they sit around half or just under, and go up to 3/4 or just over before the fan kicks in. Sensors are cheap if it bothers you. Main thing is that your fan works properly so you don't overheat.
