Looks like we've just joined the ZB Club.

How good LED headlights can be. You will love the matrix LED'S. I have driven other cars with LED headlights and not thought much of them but the ZB's are very impressive.

Engine Oil Life System. (EOLS) Service Intervals, how often for you ?

I have done all the servicing on my ZB and will be doing the 48k soon. They are no different to any other car to service. I am a qualified mechanic though and have an ABN so stamp my own book.

Holden ZB - brake pads and rotors

Looks like there are a few companies getting in and supporting the ZB now. When I looked a while ago there was no support at all. I can confirm the numbers listed on the brembo site will fit a V6 AWD wagon P07 007 front 321mm disc the same number with N at the end is a low dust option P59 097...

Engine Oil Life System. (EOLS) Service Intervals, how often for you ?

My driving consists of very few short trips so my oil life runs down about equal to km travelled. The problem with short trips is oil dilution. You need to get the oil hot to evaporate all the unburned fuel, moisture and other contaminants that build up. Oil dilution is a big problem with Diesel...

Just been made aware that DBA have listings for front and rear pads and rotors.

Holden ZB - brake pads and rotors

There isn't any aftermarket options localy but in the US and Europe there are plenty. I doubt I will ever need to replace by brakes while I own the car but if I do I will just go genuine. I have a Calais V tourer with 44k on the clock and the brakes still have at least 80% as most of my driving...

Any difference between 18 and 19 MY?

Yes I understand that. Just thought it funny that even in the GM world they don't call ZB a Commodore. I wonder if a Buick VIN would come up as an Insignia or their name for it " Regal"?

Any difference between 18 and 19 MY?

Interesting that when you search for recalls on that site it refers to the vehicle as a Holden Insignia B and not a Commodore.

    Engine Oil Life Menu

It is a useless gimmick anyway. Unless you thrash the car mercilessly it will just go down by about 8% per 1000km. It really has no way to determine the actual quality of the oil.

    Cornering noise

The cops will destroy anything. I worked at a Ford dealer for 6 months and replaced the diff in 1 of their divvy vans 4 times. Police cars were the only Falcons I saw rip engine mounts out. I always made good money servicing the cars of the local station as no service was ever just an oil change.

    ZB Calais Tourer, yes, no?

I own a Calais V Tourer and really like it. There really isn't another car on the market to compare the AWD ZB to. Would I buy one today? Only if it had very low km and was very cheap and my reason for this is purely based on the fact there is NO dealer support so the warranty is not much good...

    Auto Dimming Mirror (Retrofit)

There are some frameless rear view mirrors that look good I have seen posted on the US Buick site. They are a GM part but I can't remember the model they come off.

Very interesting. I just switch it off every time I drive the car. You can also buy a plug in dongle for the OBD plug that deactivates it.

    Dash Cluster Change..??

It may require reprogramming. There is software avaliable to do this but I haven't been able to find anyone local that will do a ZB. I want to get the speed sign recognition and tyre pressure monitors activated in my car. I have seen on UK Insignia forums people changing the information layout...

    is ZB bonza around corners?

The AWD lets an average driver go around corners faster and yes the AWD ZB is much easier to throw around than a VF Redline but the Redline feels faster and is more fun to drive. I owned a 2014 Redline and it was a good car and great fun to drive and it could hold on in the corners great but it...

Are there any ZB bitches here or only people who bitch about the ZB ?

The Australian population killed the Commodore. It was dead with VF and ZB was a last shot at trying to bring a new owner to the dying brand.

market value commodore rs zb wagon MY19

The more you spend the more you loose it's that simpli really. Euro cars are worse because they are fashion accessories and you must have the latest model to look good so that makes them harder to sell. The people who can afford a luxury car want the latest and greatest not last years model. The...

market value commodore rs zb wagon MY19

I would say it would be hard to guage and their only worth what someone is willing to pay at the moment. The prices dealers are advetrising them for seems high at the moment and there are very few privately advertised. I read last year of an owner wanting to trade a Calais V tourer with very...

    ESC Competitive Mode

If it's anything like my old VF Redline it just allows a little more tyre slip before esc kicks in. I hated it as it's very intrusive and would just turn it off completely if I wanted to have a bit of fun and get the tail out.

    Aftermarket Exhaust V6

I'm not much a fan of the noisy V6 exhaust but this engine does have a nice note. If you search Google for Camaro V6 there are a few videos of them with different exhausts. Although it would cost a fortune Magnaflow are making a cat back system for the Buick Regal sportback.

The difference with the Euro cars is they can build a very tight chassis and firm suspension without the harshness and our local product had never achieved this. I remember driving a BMW 3 series in or around 2000. It was a very hi spec model with all the available luxuries of the day and big...

Agrcultural? Not really. Suited to our ordinary roads and long distances? Absolutely. There is no other car or market in the world to compare our unique local product. Falcon and Commodore were arguably the best cars in the world for they had to compete with a myriad of imports designed with...

I'm sure you will enjoy your ZB although it is no German car as such. I have a CalaisV Tourer and love all the tech and the way it drives. I had a VF SV6 loan car a few months ago and it felt terrible although it had 180k on the clock. Cars like the VF and FGX Falcon were truly unique and sadly...

    Tire Pressure Monitor

It would be possible to add them to the car but it would require sensors in each wheel and a receiver unit. It would then need to be activated and that's the hard part. I have emailed a couple of places and asked if they could ad or remove functions but have not received a reply. I'm sure it is...

    ZB charging system fault

If the car is only 12 months old the battery should be covered by warranty as the battery has a 12 month warranty even if it is slightly over 12 months I would argue that under Australian consumer law it would be reasonably expected the battery would last longer than 12 months. Although the car...

    ZB charging system fault

I would hope the dealer would know more about the car than the RACV do. I had many cars towed into my workshop after being diagnosed by roadside assistance as having faulty alternators. 9 out of 10 would have been battery issues. Cars these days all have smart charging systems that will only...

    Did Commodore kill Holden?

All true points. Commodore did not kill Holden. The management at GM and the buying public killed Holden. Commodore would never have survived no matter what it had under the bonnet or where it was made. Jump on the VFACTS site and look at the breakdown of sales figures and you will see the huge...

    9 Speed Auto

Checked mine this morning and can report it took of in 1st when cold but didn't check after that. Modern autos will skip gears though at times because it is not efficient to go through every ratio every time. If you have no load in the car 1st probably isn't required most of the time. While...

    ZB Headlights

Attributes of the ZB that make it Special

You're not looking hard enough. Look under the console at the shifter assembly. I have had the dashes out of many makes and models and can assure you they are all the same, plenty of pressed steel brackets and supports that have surface rust. Manufacturers only make things that you can see look...

    VXR 12v Power Socket Fuse

Go to stupidcheap auto or some other parts store and buy a test light, clip it to an earth and then touch on both the exposed tips of each fuse until you find the one that doesn't light up. Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

It is not a recall. Recalls are only issued for safety related items. The fuel sender is subject to a dealer service campaign so that means it will be replaced if you have a problem with it or when you go in for a service and the dealer is doing their job and looking out for outstanding...

    HOLDEN ENGINEERS

Wow. To answer the original question yes the ZB is tuned for our conditions and driving styles just like all imported Holden have been for years. There might be some subtle changes to the ECU or trans calibrations the steering feel will be altered and the spring rates and internal valving of the...
