    Vibration in steering

Vibration like slight side to side (not much movement, maybe 1cm either way from centre, that you could almost miss if you were holding the wheel tight) of the steering wheel that was a faster vibration/wobble at higher speeds approaching 100kph and quite bad under braking? Exellent. I will...

    Vibration in steering

What about just under normal cruising conditions, constant wobble back and forth? Did you also experience that?

    Vibration in steering

Time to revive this to see if anyone out there has had similar issue. Since I last posted I have replaced the harmonic balancer and all pulleys etc to no joy. Still have a shaking sensation in the steering that gets worse as you get up to 100kph and quite violent under braking. Have replaced...

Not that rare if you know where to look, apparently only in Australia. You'll get pics Monday if that's important to you. Only brought your car into it after you bagged mine mate. As I said, this is only informative to those looking to stance their VEs. Why turn this thread into something...

Still flogging the e36 horse are you? BMW have made a lot of good cars since then. Good on you though. Supposed you owned a gtx familia too?

I think it's just your engagement and how you go about it. Never owned a holden V8 so got one just to say I've done it. Now back to BMW for me. However I grew up and moved on from e36 m3 then had a e39 m5. Next purchase probably a e60 m5 in the new year. And for your reference, total mods owe...

I meant E39. Regardless they still 20yrs old. Anyway good luck with that and thanks for your positivity and contribution to this thread. I'm sure others reading through while researching for their projects will look find you very helpful.

Guard rolling is only rolling the lip up to create more clearance, google search guard roller. Guard 'pumping' is generally more involved process and fabrication. Forgive me if I'm wrong but the car never came with 'mudflaps' so I don't know the answer to this. Do any of these models come...

Didn't get them becuase they were 'BBS' I got them because of the red colour made the wheels colour pop a bit more. The black centres looked a tad dull. Thanks though.

Yep each to their own. I agree with you, I could even go and buy a mid 90's 5 series. Even the tyres are like $80ea. But you've missed the point, this was my first project so didn't want to throw **** loads of cash at it with a chance of getting it wrong. Basically it was a learning curve...

Stance project VE SSV (help & input required please)

Since having taken the above photos before I went away, you'll notice that the front isn't quite sitting right. I have added 5mm spacers to take the front wheels out to a +15 offset. Too be honest 7-8mm would be perfect. Tried 10mm but was too much. I've also put a shorter spring in the...

    Offset Wheels

First off, if you want to get the look as indicated in your photos half the battle will be getting the ride height correct. Simply putting a low offset wheel on the car will just look naff without it being sacked to the ground. To do this you will need either adjustable coilovers or airbags...

    Vibration in steering

Only replaced front with new dba slotted product. You found the rears caused steering vibration? I haven't done these as didn't think this would caused sterring wheel vibration, more a body vibration. But thanks for your help, I'll give it a go along with replacing the harmonic balancer.

    Modifying Wagon on Green P's

RX7's are only fun for that one weekend a year that they are actually going. Save yourself the heart ache and just get a V8, for what you resell your omega for and for and what you'll save on constant repair on an RX7 which TBH are very old cars now and generally thrashed to within an inch of...

    Vibration in steering

Very true, to be honest I had forgotten all together that is was wobbling. Will be great if it is the cause!

    Vibration in steering

It's not tyres. I'm intreged by the comment about the harmonic balancer though. It's thrown the air con belt and has the wobble. But does it really affect the steering with that bad a vibration though?
  22. J

    Vibration in steering

Harmonic balancer does need replacing. But how would that vibrate through the steering?

    Vibration in steering

Was vibrating before the wheel change etc. all wheels balance properly and hub face it clean and aluminium hub rings fit snugly. The vibration has been getting slowly worse. Hence the change of strut tops, brakes and rotors and finally brand new wheels. But the vibration is still there.

    Vibration in steering

Hi guys, have got a vibration coming through my steering wheel. Done some searching a found a few posts of similar issue but they have been warped rotors and tyre rotation. My rotors are fairly new, I put them on because of the vibration. Now it seems to be getting worse and will constantly...

They're definately not from ebay. The guy I got them off owns an import business bringing in all car stuff from China. I was put onto him by a mate who got some off him in the spec's he wanted and he's had no issues. I might take you up on your offer. PM me. I'm just sussing out how to go...

Stance project VE SSV (help & input required please)

The front's will be alright with some neg camber, however my front coilovers are out of adjustment, as low as they can go. Will need some shorter springs I suspect. Rears have plenty more play in them, but you're right, if I want some reall slammage action the +20 will far too wide, to get...

What was the price tag per each wheel? It still beats the $1400 a corner for genuine. Na, I looked at the ebay ones and decided against that.

Yeah I got them custom from a local guy in Brisbane. Yeah I will keep an eye on them. Can I ask where you got yours from Turbo? Just in case.

Stance project VE SSV (help & input required please)

Yeah the adjustable coil overs only have 70km on them and if the first time I installed them is anything to go by should see a good 20-30mm drop once they settle. Unfortunately the fronts are on their lowest setting so once the front settles that will be that unless I find some good quality...

Stance project VE SSV (help & input required please)

In hindsight, if you're going for aggressive staggered setup and if you had a 8.5" front I'd go for probably a +10 offset if you're not running any camber, my photos show full neg camber and it just doesn't look right. I'll probably bring it back to 0deg.

All corners got rolled incl fronts, with bumper tabs shaved, although not relocated mounts. 225/35/20x8.5" +20 front and 245/35/20x10 +20 rear

Stance project VE SSV (help & input required please)

For those who are interested my wheels have arrived. 225/35/20 8.5" +20 fronts and 245/35/20 10" +20 rear. Just put them on this morning but battery was flat when I went to start it. So over night on charge then I'll take it for a drive to settle in the suspension. Then make a few tweeks of...

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

Awesome. Where did you get your wheels from. My supplier has had a few quality issues and now isn't answering his phone. Probably because he has an entire container of stuffed wheels. Long story. Anyway. Who was your Supplier? I just can't find anyone who stocks BBS lms in this staggered set up...
