At 4000kms I had a battery failure on the VF SV6...rang the dealership 150kms away....where I bought the car....I said would you authorise a replacement battery from Repco.if the NRMA indicates it is a total failure....Answer " DEFINETLY NOT "....we will have to check the battery and send it off...

I would like to change the oil at 7500kms...but that plate under the engine is a problem....you have to undo 5 or so bolts to access the drain plug and remove the plate and reinstall...seeing it is 9 months/15000kms oil changes and to keep it under warranty I will go the 3 years....but after...

I use wax and polish a good quality car wash...the same as I wash the ute with...my tonneau cover is 6 years old on my 2008 VE SV6 Ute...and then I go over the cover with a fine hair shoe polish brush..( minus the Nugget Shoe Polish of course )...and the fine hairs get into the fine grooves etc...

What do you mean by "to pant match the bumper plastics with steel" I have Heron White and it is a perfect match on my VF...so do not knock all the GMH colours...and even on my VE Ute which is Nitrate it is a perfect match.!!!!!!!

A friend of mine who owns a taxi in my town....put clear vinyl on the sill plates of his taxi to stop scuff marks....after a few months the clear vinyl turned yellow...he has a white taxi....you could try it....but that is what happened and maybe the heat from the globes would be a problem...

Headlight protectors.....the headlight lenses are made from polycarbonate and are stone proof....if you put on protectors on you will have to remove them to clean the lenses....other wise your light output will diminish. Bonnet protectors will collect all the leaves and road grime and will have...

The vf ute is the same as the ve ute from the back window to the tail gate...now if you replace the spare with a full size alloy wheel....you have to install it with shiny face pointing to the ground....as it has a safety lock on it to stop it being dislodged and becoming a road hazard....bugger...

I remember seeing it was a serpentine belt....so that it did not dislodge...or maybe a v-belt...I cannot remember....anyway I would not play around with this type of arrangement...obviously it is tied in with the steering wheel mechanically and power assist electronically.

y Probably bugger all....only raised the question to gather people's thoughts...it probably needs to go to ACA on TV.....everyone will then become squeaky clean for a while....and then revert back to mix and match !!!!!!

There is a small serpentine belt inside the electric motor that operates the rack and pinion and is bolted to it...replacement I guess is to remove the whole assembly....there is definetly no power steering fluid....gone, dead and buried....there is probably grease sealed in the rack and pinion...

Just wondering when they say petrol prices are going down are they quoting E85, E10,96 Octane or 98 Octane...and do the higher priced brands of petrol follow suit????.... I do not think so! How do we not know that E85 can be mixed with E10, E10 mixed with 96 and 98 Octane...the attendant behind...

I had a similar nudge bar on my VU SV6 Ute with 2 driving lights....very easy to attach....the VE nudge bar is more difficult as you have to cut 2 square holes in the front bumper and bolt directly to the 2 chassis rails....all the instructions come with the unit....and there are 2 LED lights...

Thanks for the info....stupid me was not thinking about the hook up to the reversing wire...looks as though it will have to go on the tail gate...is the signal satisfactory ?????? What do you mean....power from the overhead console.??...you mean the interior light.??...and how do you gain access...

Make sure the long stalk is seated correctly.....as it requires both + and - contact as it is seated in the slot...there is no leads for the parking lights....they are tricky at times as they must be seated correctly to operate. !!!!!!

I had the same problem with my VY on the drivers side with low beam...checked everything with a multimeter and even the globe with high and low filament was intact.....solution pull out the plug behind the light...have a good look at the contacts...mine had ( birdy grease ) green colour on some...

I seem to remember that way back a certain brand of vehicle had a magnetic sump plug...so if there were any iron filings about...they adhered to the sump plug...cannot remember the vehicle....maybe a VW ????????

I have a 2008 VE SV6 Ute and I wish to install a Wireless Remote Reversing Camera underneath the rear window at the top. I know it is not going on the rear tail gate and I will not have vision down low...but to have a fish eye view from higher up and a wider view from the back window. Question...
