Oh the Mic issue are you sure your overhead dome light assembly has a mic in it? Also on the pinout is the two wires needed for the mic input, since your car was a series one those wires may not be there but you can add them and rin the wires up one of the A pillars to the roof.

It has been found that the outer door handle won't swap over VE to VF so in addition to the inner door card/dash incompatibility. Don't forget the WM front door will fit fine on a VE as well. If you can find those any cheaper.

Believe that "Adapts" only apply to the 4L60-E - THe V8's get the 6L80 and does not require any programming after a fluid change. SOme info on the Adapts:

Huh don;t know then The dome light (that comes on with the doors) goes through the BCM for power but the map lights are straight 12 volts. And I would imagine the front and rear lights share the same ground so if the rears did not work that would be the next ting to check.
