I have a VF Series I Auto V8 Ute. I have a tapping noise coming from the car for a few seconds after I select drive for the first time each day. I have reported this to my dealer but they say it is normal. Not sure if that's right or not? Anyone else have this problem, heard this noise?

You have checked the pads are ok. You never know what has been done before with a second hand car. The previous owner could have been riding the brakes and the pads could be low.

When you get into the car you will notice the dash is all dark so you still need to press the brake pedal and hit the start button before you take the car out of park. As far as I can tell the handbrake has no effect as I never use mine and the auto start always works for me.
