    Sailplane fitment

Does anyone have fitting instructions for a genuine VS HSV Maloo sailplane? Also need the exact location and wiring diagram to cut and wire the tailgate number plate recess. Thanks

    Tonneau support bar

Can anyone give me the specs for a VS ute tonneau support bar? Someone has replaced mine with a flat bar and it doesnt lift the cover up high enough to keep it taught.

    Ute Tailgate bolts

My young bloke removed the tailgate from his ute to have it repaired and has lost the bolts that fix it to the hinges. Wreckers have none and Holden don't list them anymore. Are they the same as VY-VZ ones? I don't recall them being countersunk screws like on H series utes/ vans. Any photos...

    HZ Rubber recommendations

I need to purchase door rubbers, bailey channel rubbers and inner and outer weatherstrips for an HZ ute. Can anyone recommend a decent kit? There seems to be a fair few different ones available. I want something half-decent.

    Omega parts carter- next project?

Worth sacrificing the VE, I think. Tiny rust spot just behind right rear wheel arch. Solid floors, plenum and sills. Radio delete dash blank, no aerial and all original books. What a find.

    Omega parts carter- next project?

So, quick update. Finally sorted all the gremlins on the VE. Had the SV6 bodykit painted ready for fitting and guess what?.. I came across a rust-free, one-owner HZ Kingswood ute, locally, for a ripper price. My ever patient wife said 'no worries, but you know the rule. One ute will have to go...

I'm starting to think a kingswood might offer me less challenges... I hate doing things twice.

    Omega parts carter- next project?

Today's challenge: despite having had strut bushes, castor bearings and sway bar rubbers replaced less than 1500 km ago, the front end has developed a horrendous creaking/ groaning noise. It's only become more apparent since the onset of the cold weather here. So tomorrow it's back to the...

    Ssz crewman project

Yep, stripped a vz crewman of some good bits. Unfortunately, don't have space to store whole ute Since then it's been under 6 ft of water so electrical and mechanical stuff no good.

    Ssz crewman project

Everything repaired now. Window mechanisms from VZ wagon installed. A bit quieter now with new rear muffler but still sounds alright...and legal. Now to get started on the cosmetics....if project VE doesnt keep costing me dollars.

If the water pump was replaced by holden (the dealership formerly known as..) 1500 km ago, wouldn't the coolant have been changed then?

    Omega parts carter- next project?

Ok. I must be getting closer to ironing all tje bugs out of this one but it seems to be the gift that keeps on giving.. Last week i started to hear a bubbling sound in the top radiator hose when the motor was hot. Temp gauge within normal parameters. Replaced radiator cap with genuine new one...

    Ssz crewman project

Well, the old Crewman has been safely tucked away in the shed for a while, only getting the occasional run. My attention (and $$$) have been absorbed by my VE parts carter which is becoming a project in its own right (see separate thread). Anyway, I remembered the other day that it needed to...

    Omega parts carter- next project?

Hmmmm. Took ute in to local mechanic (different one to usual as he was away). They found no coded and could not replicate a miss or hesitation. Suggested dirty fuel (I only use 98). They did say car felt down on power but reckoned that could be normal for an alloytec (?). So I used the car to...

    Driving light issue VE ute

I've double checked... Relay terminals: 87 - Battery (fused) 86 - high beam wire (switched) 85 - earth 30 - lights (separately earthed to body) System worked for a few activations then blows either fuse. I've done lots of these before on Commodores without encountering this problem....

    Driving light issue VE ute

OK. Wiring all good. Replaced 15 amp auxiliary fuse with a 20 amp. Blew factory high beam 10 amp fuse straight away. As this is the trigger wire for the driving lights, does this fuse need upgrading as well?

    Driving light issue VE ute

I've wired up a pair of Hella Rallye 4000 driving lights to my VE ute. They work well for a minute or so, correctly switching between high and low beam when required. Then they will blow a fuse. It's either the factory 10 amp high beam (right hand) fuse from where I've sourced the trigger...

    Lights in factory roo bar

What colour is the park lamp wire running from the headlight plug?
  22. ringfeder3

    Performance question.

Cleaned throttle body. Definite but intermittent miss in motor under load. Mechanic reckoned they couldn't replicate problem. So today, slight miss again and CEL light came on....damn. Went to different mechanic who did a scan there and then. Fault codes for 3 oxygen sensors and misfire in...

And oxygen sensors have been done recently.

    Performance question.

Restoration of my ve omega manual ute is progressing well. New timing chain, brakes and suspension all sorted. Tyres etc etc. However, I have noticed occasionally a very slight 'miss' or hesitation under load. Thinking plugs, leads or coils, I took it to the mechanic who reckoned all was...

    Omega parts carter- next project?

Added some decent lights today. Fabricated a bracket with the young feller. Will wire them up this weekend. The sv6 body kit should be painted and ready to go soon. She's getting new plugs and leads tomorrow. Once these are all sorted, I'll atta ck all the shopping trolley dings and scratches

Took ute back to repairer. Sure enough, strut top bearings replaced. Also did bushes in struts. Tight as a drum now. Mechanic told me k frame had been done and struts and other bushes had been done recently. Took all sv6 panels to son who will tidy and paint them ready for fitment. All ss...

Slight hesitation at 2000rpm. 60km/h, 5th gear. Noticed it today. Very faint but I'd like an idea of where to start looking. Accelerates well under normal circumstances. Could it be plugs? Advice appreciated before I go to the mechanic...

    Omega parts carter- next project?

I'm so glad the rattle in the rear of my ute has been fixed, it makes it easier to hear the one that's developed in the front... Reckon it's likely strut top bushes. I'll get it fixed so I can hear any rattles from the centre of the ute...... Aren't cars a great hobby?

    Lost socket....

Update: with the luxury of time and daylight, I was able to see that the rodeo was thoughtfully designed with a series of rubber grommets fitted along the inner sill of each side. I simply pulled them out, reached a finger into the general area and pulled the socket and extension out. I love...

    Omega parts carter- next project?

Back to the mechanic today to ascertain where the annoying rattle is coming from. Expecting that it would be another obscure and expensive bush requiring replacement, I was surprised to hear the culprit was a loose retention bolt on the new rear shock. Their error but I was pleased they...

    Omega parts carter- next project?

Well. The ute went in and had the bushes replaced yesterday. Mechanic said they test drove it and it was rattle-free. On the way home from picking it up, however, the same rattle that was there before remained, loud as ever. To their credit, the mechanic jumped in and came for a run to hear...
