    Brakes! Not happy with em'

Once again....i dont want to get off topic, but be aware...... Discs will only be machined under warranty up to 60,000kms (at least according to my holden service place). After that, you pay yourself. its a bastard to find that out when you take your car in for its 60,000 service at...

    Funny rattles...and an exhaust

Its the alloytec. seems now (as i dropped it in this morning to actually do the job) that they can just do the heat shields. I should have read the whole post above...."when cold...when cold" Damn burnt hands..:whistling: (just kidding). And Troy..agree with you....if its a warranty, i...

    Funny rattles...and an exhaust

Hiya gang, So this rattle sound starts up. Doesnt matter if im accelerating, braking, air c on or off etc. I cant work it out. Holden have a look, and it turns out to be the heat shields on the exhaust need to be replaced. Now granted, I havent looked, but would assume they are bolted...

The Kyoto Protocol is not necessary

Hi all....time for my 2 cents worth..... Some points to note first off..... 1. Australia only contributes 1.5% of all CO2 (carbon dioxide) emissions globally. not much, but we have a small population, and on an emmissions per head of population, we are actually the worlds largest...

    VE TV Ad...

Hi all....... It may not be new, but I saw an ad on tv last night with an orange sedan. Something about the dawning of a new age....all the buildings and other cars looking like rocks or mud etc etc. I just thought the ad itself, for such a dynamic, exciting car, was pretty bland!:whistling...

    Ute Hard Cover

something different I have seen these. extra compartment. very expensive ($1850 unpainted, or $2400 odd painted), but would be something to turn heads :-) I may have actually seen them from a link on here! http://www.tortuga.net.au/index.html

    seatbelt light?

wow...what buzzer. My 2004 vz s ute has a light comes on when starting up..goes off after 5 seconds, and thats the end of it. No light when driving with belt off...never a buzzer under any circumstances! I just assumed Holden had got rid of it based on its annoying presence! I still buckle...

    45,000 Service

Yes....the service book does help, but anyone know what a fair and reasonable cost is? My dealership here in town are crap with "extras". Ive known places to clean the interior if need be, but here your lucky to have the windows put back up on a rainy day!! I am going to ask them for an...

    Mobile phone mount

mmmm....could be a problem. i guess though that the mount ive used, if you choose to test it out, and it doesnt work, there are no holes in the console :) Was only bout $5 for the bracket. id try it

    Mobile phone mount

Mine is the 6 speed too, but its reverse thats left and up! 1st gear has heaps of clearance ;)

    Mobile phone mount

I have used a mount that affixes between the radio and the side of the centre console. No need for drilling or screwing into the panels this way. Mine is a manual, and the only issue, is when i am slipping into reverse quickly, my knuckles hit the cradle (maybe once a week, and only lightly)...

    Wiring up a Navman

Hey there SSZ... the install of gps is something ive been thinking of for a while, and while i cant offer you any help re: placement, panel removals etc, i would love to see pics of the job, both during and after completion? Let me know how it all goes :) Good luck

    VZ mobile phone car kit

How did the install go? Ive got a carkit (not bluetooth, but the cradle one...cant remember the product code...genuine nokia one), and it has the little button that you can answer, hang up and do the voice tag thing with (see pic attached). i want to destroy the button from the kit and wire up...

    Driving Lights

Furrhead, the ECB bar on mine does require some drilling for bolting onto subframe. i left the job to the panelshop to do during another job. I believe the bumper was removed for the job. i looked over the fitting instructions that came with the bar though, and they were very comprehensive...

    Driving Lights

No, no glare at all. as the rear of the lights are painted, rather than chrome lights or something similar, there is no issue. Coupled to that, from the drivers seat, you cant see the back of the lights anyway, without leaning way forward over the steering wheel. Only thing seen is the aerial...

    Driving Lights

Ive used hella Comet 200 lights, and got the housings sprayed at the panel shop when another ding was being done. Mounted on an ECB nudgebar. bout $500 for the bar, bout $160 for the lights (add extra $30 for 100watt globes) and $0 for the paint. Cheers....Shortsta

    Driving Songs

Im loving all the heavier music being bandied about (have to make up a compilation cd tonight and go for a long drive, just to get back to some of these great sounds). But......driving along the Hay plains in western nsw, on sunset, where you can literally see the earth curve away in every...

Any fishermen (or women) out there? Be annoyed...

vinnywelsh.... im not a fan of PETA (not by a long shot) but please be a bit more careful in calling PETA an "environmental group" I am professionally employed as an Ecologist, and so work on studying and preserving the environment we are surrounded by. I am in effect...a professional greenie...

maxy0987....by notice do you mean reminder notice, or infringement notice? Ive been given the fine. Handwritten after being pulled over, but in handwriting the fine, the officer wrote down the state of rego incorrectly. I think if i dont pay, they just send a summons to court dont they...

    Speeding outs?

Ok....ive been caught! My bad. 17km over the limit in outback NSW, in a 100 zone without a bend, hill, crossroad or even a driveway for miles. Fine....ive done the wrong thing. BUT.......my car is registered in Vic and the infringement notice (issued by mobile radar on the spot, not in the...

    cruise control = fugged?

Fair enough Troy. My mistake. I made the assumption that you started up...drove off...hadnt used the brakes.....and then tried to engage to no success :embarrass (i live in a remote area, so for me, not touching the brakes for the first 10 minutes of driving isnt unheard of). My...
