Thanks to both. This started out as an economic brake replacement as the SSV gear is new and cheeep. Not really bling, On the plus side could be some possible extra stopping grunt. After a bit more reading it seems a better pad can provide more hope of that than bigger discs and calipers...

Could also be the trailer module does not suit your vehicle. I was told at a spare parts desk the modules can be different for different models. So maybe take the module part number and your vin to the spare parts desk and get them to check this out - a free and quick first step.

Mate before you go anywhere regarding the programming connect the trailer to your vehicle and plug it in and check if it works as is. Mine did.
