Had to take the white frame out of its larger black plastic assembly, fit the switch assembly back into it and then fit the whole thing back into the dash. My rotary style headlight switch seems to have sunken sort of sideways into the dash. WTF? Presumable its popped out of some sort of clip mounting at the back. How do I get into behind that part of the dash?

It seems to be a bit mad that you cannot tap into the existing front camera on these cars for 'dashcam' purposes, but failing that I've bought a Garmin 65 which seems to be quite a good piece of kit. Hardwiring to the VF though, with the battery in the boot? Hmmmmm…. Any comments?

FOUND them! You have to pull down the whole centre of the seat, which covers the ski port to the boot. Jeesh! In my VF Redline, they were in the fold down armrest I thought but maybe I'm remembering wrong. That car also had them in the seat base as well.

The thing I personally don't like about the VFII is the 'chromey' tail lights, so I had the optional spoiler added to distract the eye from those as such. Then in the 2017s they blacked out everything else on the SSV Redline, except the headlights. Which made the thing look like a base model...

BTW if anyone is after a very nice VF SSV Redline manual with only 17,500 klms on it the old beastie is going to Muirs Haberfield as the trade-in.

Here she is fresh off the truck this morning. Some work to be done - some chrome trims are to be added and extras like tint and paint protection etc but it all seems to be going well for delivery on Friday of this week.

I'm noticing on the Holden site that the 2017 standard Redline now comes only with the black trim around the windows. Does anyone know for sure what is the option story with the chrome bits on the 2017 cars? Can a Redline be ordered from the factory with chrome around the windows?

Is it just me of have they changed the bonnets? The centre bulge and the air vents look different to the VFII but perhaps its the extreme overhead angle of the shots.

It is still under warranty but my suspicion is that its got something to do with the dealer applied interior treatment that came with the paint protection package etc. So I can imagine the argument as to whether it was their stuff or something I applied later - which of course there is nothing...

The moulded black plastic frame around the top of my HUD has a strange thing happening to it - some sort of disintegration. Is this hard to remove? If it is I'll have a go at fixing it replacing it myself otherwise will have to cough up at the dealer I assume. cheers

Factory HID. The VF and VFII Calais only have halogens - its only the US market SS and the local Caprice that get HIDs as far as I know and although the look the same as a fitted light they won't work here as the internal masking for the beams will be set for LHD. So that could be a problem.
