Hi, just mounted an amp in my boot, and was just wondering which sides of the car I should run my wiring (ie. power and speakers). Is it alright to run speaker wire past the car's computer (left side)? or will this cause interference? What's everyone else done? Cheers

Mine is doing sort of the same thing. I've replaced the water pump (was stuffed anyway, not related), thermostat, both radiator hoses plus heater hoses, flushed the radiator multiple times, even took it to a radiator place that was supposed to clean the radiator properly, but ended up flushing...

When it's hot and I change through all gears, then slap it back in park and check the level, its about ~5-10mm over full.

Mine was doing the same thing, I noticed the A/C belt was getting really hot. Narrowed it down to the tensioner pulley. It was completely seized. Think it cost ~$35 for a new one. All good now

Hi guys, Recently serviced my gearbox and now when driving, if i manually hold any gear like 1st or 2nd, and decelerate it's like it's in neutral and doesn't slow down as it should. Anyone got any ideas?

hingo1983: I gave my throttle body a clean not so long ago. Wasn't really dirty tho :/ Think i'll replace the O2 sensor next and see how that goes. Car has nearly 300,000 on it, so god knows how long ago it was replaced, or if at all.

Best way is to leave your tranny in park, take one of the trans oil cooler hoses off from your radiator, then start your engine and drain it out into a bucket or what ever. You can just take your tranny pan off, but then **** goes everywere :)

Got it off. Was really tight. Gave it a hard pull and she came off

Manual says total capacity is 7.9L including converter, or 4.8L minus converter

Hi Just in the process of replacing my dizzy cap and rotor .. wondering how you remove the rotor? Does it just pull straight off? I've tried gently, but no go. My manual doesn't explain how to remove it either :/ Any help would be great Cheers

Anyone know if a VS 5L gearbox is the same/compatible with a VR 5L? Mine is on it's way out, and i'm able to get one cheap. Cheers

Have you got cruise control? If so, rip out the fuse for it and see if it still does it.

Got it sorted. I must've gotten the needle stuck on my shirt or something and pulled it below the 0km mark. Just had to twist it back the otherway past 200km until it sprung back to 0km correctly. Cheers Bob129

Hi Guys, For some reason, my speedo needle has gone below the 0km/h mark. I pulled it apart to change some globes, and notice it as I was putting it back together. Anyone know how to get it to sit properly? Cheers

Cheers. Yeah I thought it would. I've already replaced the four main globes. I think there might be more inside the actual cluster itself. Might have to completely open it up.

Just a quick question .. Does anyone know if the BT1 speedo needle is supposed to be illuminated?

I thought if the key or barrel were stuffed, the engine wouldn't even turn over. Kind of like leaving your auto in gear and trying to start. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Pretty sure it's 12 Litres. Just get a bottle of concentrate, and mix it with distilled or demineralised water.

Is there supposed to be some sort of stopper there? cause mine has nothing, just goes to the carpet.

That's what i've done, but then there is still slack in the cable when released. Like you can play with the peddle for about 1/4 before the cable grabs.

Don't know if this is normal or not, but with my VR, if you adjust the accelerator cable so it has full tension, (ie. no slack) the peddle can only be depressed about 3/4 and it will be at full throttle. I didn't realise this initially, and as a result, snapped the cable from stabbing the...

I had the same noise on my 5L. sort of like an intermittent sucking. I removed and cleaned the throttle body out, along with all the PCV valves etc. and it seems to have reduced the noise significantly. Dunno if it'll help, but can't hurt :)

Yeah that's what I thought, but there's nothing there :( I've got a Haynes manual VR/VS V6/V8, and it mentions nothing about a bleed valve on the V8. It has a pic of the V6 with the bleed valve on the thermo housing tho.

Anyone know where the coolant bleed valve is located on a 5.0L?
