Normally on a gm you have the vats removed so that it doesnt need the bcm. Guys who do the ls ecus might be able to do the alloytec ecu.

Are you thinking of using the rodeo ecu?

I'm looking for some advice on alloytec blocks. Are they the same block for LFX to LY7 etc? In the 3.6 litre engine.

Finally fitted vt brake upgrade. Reco calipers with new rotors and a vt master with spacer and falcon fluid tan and new hoses. Feels like I have a lot better brake modulation now.

I like the idea of the alloytec in the vs chassis. You can pick up a blown one cheap for fitment. Wiring is what I would struggle with.

The heads are the same on the exhaust sides. You just need the manual extractors to suit unless you want to modify the auto ones.

Cruising, even at those speeds won't generate enough heat to make the oil break down. Maybe just the oil slightly more regularly. Send the oil off for analysis to see if it's breaking down.

At that age and km replacing the injectors may make quite a difference. You can buy cleaned and serviced injectors off eBay. New spark plugs are cheap and check the resistance on the leads

Thanks. Yeah you are probably right about the cluster/km. Engines are pretty cheap. I'm new to commodores and have read a fair bit of the forums. The lower intake manifold seems to be a common problem.
