Mace Inlet Manifold Gaskets - Aluminium Replacement for OEM

So are you saying that the problem with the inlet manifold gasket is due to a gasket malfunction post the VN series 3.8?

vt how to bleed the air from the cooling system ?

Here's the surefire and easiest way. Take the radiator hose off at the thermostat. Tie it up using a bit of string to the open bonnet. Get a funnel - stick it in the end of the tied up radiator hose. This gives you a nice big head. Poor coolant in slowly. There's a small hole in the thermostat...

Mace Inlet Manifold Gaskets - Aluminium Replacement for OEM

Isn't it the recommended Holden Coolant that destroys the plastic gaskets? (Dexcool). Use a silicate based coolant and there aren't the problems?

    VX Head gaskets replacement

Cast iron head and block. So not a huge amount of irregular expansion/ contraction. As long as the threads are clean as a whistle - I'd reuse them. They don't lose their elasticity.

    Coolant sensor - no coolant.

Took it for a long drive. It was water in the exhaust. Now it's going perfectly. Thank goodness I didn't do the head gaskets. The gunk I had in my radiator fill bottle, and the brown coolant was, I think just zero maintenance for 30K Km. Next time I get a sludged up Holden I'm just going to do...

    Cant find the coolant leak!

What about that rubber O ring that seals the metal pipe that pushes into the inlet manifold at the front of the engine. The pipe goes through the Serpentine Belt tensioner.

    Radiator Fans VY 2003

HI. Can anyone tell me when the small fan on the drivers side of the radiator is supposed to come on? I can get the big one on the passenger side to go when I turn the aircon on - but have never seen the small one work. Is this normal?

    Coolant sensor - no coolant.

I've decided to do the head gaskets. I did the inlet manifold a few weeks ago. Then I got the radiator leak. My question is...do I need to buy new inlet manifold gaskets - or is a couple hundred km's on them ok for a reuse if I scrape all the rtv off? I just don't want to waste anymore money.

    Coolant sensor - no coolant.

Inlet manifold gasket has been done. After 20 minutes it's a bit misty, vapor on the end of the exhaust that sort of evaporates straight away. Hand over end of exhaust gets moist? I guess the only way is to do a test of the coolant for co2. I'm thinking of just getting a head gasket repair...

    Coolant sensor - no coolant.

Can you have even compression (200 on every cylinder) but still have a damaged gasket? The exhaust is quite moist, or maybe I'm being overly paranoid. With good compression would a gasket fix additive work?

Small hose that goes from under the throttle body? Where does it go to?

OK ta. Does it plug into the drivers side head or into a plastic junction that has other tubes going into it?

Small hose that goes from under the throttle body? Where does it go to?

I am trying to find where a small hose that plugs in under the throttle body (not the one that goes into the inlet manifold and is attached with hose clips) ends up? Does it just sit there open under the manifold air inlets near the back of the engine? I have spent ages looking around with a...

Just watched this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rl8G3LS5nes. My error code is 00000000000000 10000000000000 not 00000000000000 00000000000000 which it was in the video. Does anyone know what this means?

    Coolant sensor - no coolant.

If there's 5 litres left in the system, that'll still get pushed around the heads by the water pump?

    Coolant sensor - no coolant.

I lost about 5-6 litres via a radiator leak. The temp gauge stayed where it always had been, maybe a little higher at the lights. The car runs just as it did. Have I damaged the heads with 5 litres in the system only - or would the water pump still push that 5 litres around the heads? A water...

    Coolant sensor - no coolant.

If there's no coolant in the engine, what does the sensor read? Is there a warning that goes off when coolant is low?
