    P0008 error

My LLT engine was doing this p0008 code intermittently for weeks and going into limp mode and Holden found a faulty wire going to the cam position sensor (I think but can’t remember as was 3 years ago) and replaced the wire and no more error codes or problems since.

    Date stamped wheels

I searched the forum and couldn’t find anything about this topic. I have 2 vb commodore steel wheels in storage that I want to sell and need to clarify some things about them so I know how to advertise them. They are date stamped with month and year. Were they only on vb or other models as...

    Roof lining

Any auto upholstery place can do it. Had the wife’s omega done last year for $240 and got my sv6 done last month for $300. He charged me extra because I have the DVD player in the roof so was a bit more work to get around that. Better to let someone else do it because it’s a pain to remove all...

    Confused

I had my sv6 do something similar last year. Same as you described and every time it happened and check engine light came on for few seconds and went away again. Did this on and off for a few weeks and never showed a code in the computer. I had it to Holden for a service and they found a loose...

Hey guys im posting this for my brother that’s doing the swap. Hey people im looking for some help, Iv put a known running 3.6 10h9h engine from 1/07 4wd auto, into a 9/07 2wd manual, that originally had a 10h9e in it, and it wont run. I can crank it over and over without generating any...

2012 VE SV6 Timing Chain Cost Newcastle

Don’t hold me to it but I remember seeing someone on a Facebook group saying the guys in boolaroo a place called argenton automotive were reasonably priced on doing chains. I have searched for the posts but can’t find them now. Give them a call and see what they say.

    Airbag light

I have the same car and did my clock spring about 6 months ago for rego and air bag light hasn’t came back since. New clock spring was around $220 on eBay. Definitely don’t stuff around with second hand ones. It’s just not worth the drama.

    V6 3l SIDI dipsticks

Probably easier and less mess to drain all the oil out and put it back in. I always put 6 litres in first and then check the level and add small amounts from there till it’s up to the correct level.

Yeah should have went there first.

    Ve cabin filter

Ok just an update on this filter. I had another look at the filter and asked the young guy at super cheap. He showed me there is an arrow mark on the bottom showing flow direction. It’s very very faint white on the foam and had to put my glasses on and could only just make it out. Can’t see...

    Ve cabin filter

I just purchased a Ryco cabin filter for my ve from super cheap to replace the old one that’s in there. The problem I am having is the Holden one in there now has an arrow showing which way the air flow goes. The super cheap one has no markings on it. One side is yellow and one side is grey. So...

Check Engine + Low Power in low revs

Sounds like when the check engine light came on the car has gone into limp mode. This happens when some engine sensors trip a code to limit engine power to try and stop damage to the engine. Would be best to get it scanned because it could be anything causing it. You can ask super cheap to scan...

    VE Mag Wheel Nuts

I got vf sv6 wheels for my wife's omega and used the VE wheel nuts no problem. The only thing I did was paint the nut caps black because the vf wheel centres were black and silver caps looked **** on it.

CTEK chargers 25% off at repco until 12/11

I don't know about repco prices but I bought 2 off eBay. Got the Mxs 5 for my bike battery for a bit over $100 last year and Mxs 10 last month for $220.

What order do the VX variants go in?

The acclaim, lumina and equipe are just add on packs on an executive I believe. These cars would have started out as an executive and had extra bits added on. I have a vx equipe and it has power windows, body coloured side mirrors, a rear boot wing, wider body coloured door strips, chrome...

    Steering wheel question

BlackVXGTS I can see the pics you posted above and I'm not trying to start an argument just trying to help the op. When I did my clock Spring in March this year, I went to my local supercheap to get them to reset my airbag light and they only charged me $14 to do it. The young guy connected...

    Steering wheel question

If you pull the horn pad off you will soon know if the airbag has been taken out or not. This has to come off to do the clock Spring anyway. Disconnect the battery before removing it. You need torx bits to get the pad off. If you don't have them supercheap sell small sets for $15. If it only...

trying to start my VX after installing ignition...

Hey mr black stock here is my 2 cents worth. I had a vt years ago and if you put the key in and turned the ignition on and went to start the car, it would just wind over and not start . I learned that I had to turn the key on till the coloured lights came on then had to press the unlock button...

In need of someone with some serious 2006 ve commodore knowledge

Take your car to supercheap to get the codes cleared if those 2 guys are stuffing you around. They did one for me last week for $14 on another car (not VE). If your trans repair was done correctly the codes should clear. Not sure what po500 code is but they can tell you if it's related to your...

    Ve commodore roof lining

Just easy to take it to an upholsterer. We got our omega roof lining done a few months ago and only cost us $220. By the time you buy the new material and the glue and spend hours getting the old one out and getting the old glue off its not worth the hassle. They know the easy ways to get the...

    2006 VE Active Select ?

When you move the lever to the left and into sports mode, there should be an indicator on the dash saying its in sports mode. This should be working as all sv6 models were fitted with it. You might need to take it to Holden and have them check it out with their computer.

    VE SS S1 Bluetooth question.

This might sound like a stupid question but have you tried connecting your phone to the Bluetooth. Ve SS had blue tooth as a standard feature. If you have the owners manual it tells you how to connect it.

Ve sv6 weirdly not turning over or starting

Unfortunately the BCM controls the central locking, immobiliser and a lot of other functions of the car. It can't be bypassed. It needs to be replaced. Try getting a quote from Holden and see what they say. Depending on the condition and kms on the car it might work out more than what the car is...

Ve sv6 weirdly not turning over or starting

Sounds like the BCM (body control module) is stuffed. I remember seeing other posts about this and was a problem in early VE Commodores. Use the search box just below where you log in and search the forum for similar posts. Locking and unlocking problems and not starting is caused by the BCM...

    Ve esc/abs fault

Get the codes scanned and will pin point the problem. Could be any number of things as said above. Wife's omega did the same. Got it scanned and found the rear wheel abs sensor was at fault. Changed that and all good. I know supercheap will scan the codes for you if you don't have your own.

    VE SV6 rear seats

There isn't a way to open it from the boot. Only option I can see is climb in the boot and try kicking the centre section open. If it is only a plastic clip holding it shut it will come open that way. At worst you will need to buy a new centre section or another rear seat. If you do at least you...

    My first Holden!

Welcome to the forum. The timing chain issue is a bit hit and miss with these cars. We have seen them needing done at 70 to 80 000 kms and some that have done 200 000 kms and never been done. A mate of mine has one with over 290 000 kms he got from the original owner and never been done. The...

    VE 08 SS roof lining

It's probably not worth stuffing around with it yourself. The whole thing needs to come out, the old glue needs to be scrapped off and the liner glued back on and put back in the car. Then all the trims back on. Just take it to auto upholstery place and let them do it. We got our omega done 2...

Can someone please help me change my VX V6 radiator coolant!

If you go to the search box just below the log in box, type in change coolant and enter will find plenty of guides on how to do it and bleed the system correctly. V6 engines need to be bled or they get air locks and cause overheating.

    VE Series 2 Sportswagon AIRCONDITIONING

macdolly I have had the same on going problem with my air con. After spending almost $600 at Holden over the last 2 years I too still don't have a correctly working air con. VE return to dealer and no fuel gauge

Sounds like the sender unit for the gauge. My brother has the same thing happening in his VE wagon. 2006 WM Caprice and Bluetooth thread

I would have thought the caprice being the top of the range in its day would have had Bluetooth as standard but I could be wrong. You could pull the glove box out and see if the module is there or if it's gone the plug would be there. There are plenty of posts about pulling the glove box out and...
