Next question for you all. Anyone had any success in getting the carpet behind the seats (Ute obviously) to stick back into position on the metal behind it? Wondering what I should be using to get it to stay in place. There’s currently some double sided tape there that isn’t doing the job……...

The Bissell thing did an amazing job though. Took me 4 goes, maybe didn’t need the last one, but real easy to use, just sprays out of the head, then you vacuum it up. Would highly recommend if anyone is looking to clean interiors. Before and after……..

Nah I’d had enough of that thing by the time I’d finished with the seats! Carpet was actually really clean already which also helped.

So I ended up getting these. Bit weird with the orange trim, but I don’t think it’ll look that out of place with the white and red of the car. $250, had to take the whole set though, so I’ve got a back seat to get rid of!! Think after a good clean they’ll come up nice

Clubby seats are standard ones. Would definitely not swap if Devonish.

I’d swap for sure, if I get the clubby seats that is, depends what he wants for them. I just reckon the SS ones would look better in my car to match the rest of it, compared to the grey and green of the clubby ones. SS ones are proving hard to find, especially in WA

So I’ve found a pair of VS clubby seats, I’m still more keen on the SS ones though. Anyone know of anyone selling any SS ones, or anyone that might want to swap some Clubby for SS ones?

Would love some of them, but they’re pretty hard to find in good condition, that don’t cost less than like 5k, it’s mental. SS seats would match well with the rest of the Ute, and they’re still reasonably priced second hand. Just hard to find good ones at the moment

Yeah the pattern on the seats, the shape, and the pattern on the door trim seems to be exactly the same, they just don’t have the SS logo on them. Probably not worth the cost and hassle just for the SS badge. I’ll still keep looking though in case I come across some at a good price

Added some SS decals to the Ute, as it’s pretty much an SS by everything but name. I think they go well with the full red stripe.

Another vote for pacemakers here. I actually noticed a fair difference after putting them on my Ute. I’d got them before, about 20 years ago on a VN V6, and didn’t notice that much difference. Yeah I’m pretty happy with how they turned out actually. The painter wasn’t 100% sure how they’d come up, being rubber, he said it might be hard to get the paint to adhere to them, but it’s worked well. Time will tell how they hold up, but it’ll be loving in the garage soon, so should be fine...

Yeah factory V8 manual is where the value will be. Originality and condition obviously will come into it too. I doubt many if any will reach crazy heights, but the fact a VN SS can fetch 40-50k currently is probably crazy enough!

So Supercheap have some high heat aerosol paint that says it’s suitable for use on exhaust systems. Is that the stuff you mean?? Just spray the **** out of the starter motor? Would I potentially ruin anything within the SM?
